a RATTLESNAKE!!!!!!!!  It was in the middle of the road.  We were walking yesterday afternoon (thank God we didnt have the dogs) and my hubby grabs me and throws me back.

I yelled at him asking why he did that and then I heard it.  It was a female rattlesnake that looked like it had been hit by a car but still very much alive.  She was having babies!!!

There were little rattlesnakes all over the road.  None were alive they all looked too young to be born.  My husband called someone and the ycame out to humanely put it out of its misery.  Hubby was going to do it but I wouldnt let him get near it.

Anything Non-Dog Related / I went to the hospital...
« on: June 29, 2008, 08:03:32 am »
and they sent me home. :( >:(  I started to have contractions on Friday night and hubby and i went to the labor and delivery.

I had gone to the doctor that morning and was 3 centimeters and 70% effaced and he said that I could go anytime.  Well they were coming every 3 to 4 minutes so we went in.

Nurses were really nice and they hooked me up to monitors.  In an hour I hadnt changed from 3 centimeters so they called my doctor (who wasnt on call it was someone else) and they said for me to be sent home with an Ambien. (which was an experience in itself)
I was SOOOOOOO mad!!  They told me that if I had walked in 4 centimeters they would have admitted me right that second and put me on the Pit.

Then my husband trying to be funny said do you know how big one more centimeter is.  It is tiny.  I could have killed him.  Does anyone know how to dialate one more centimeter?

« on: June 14, 2008, 07:50:45 am »
My husband's boss is going out of town for the weekend and asked us to keep thier 5 month old American Bulldog mix.  She is absolutley adorable!!  Her name is Nelly and she is a sweetie.
Buble is IN LOVE with her.  He just follows her around and cant believe that we got him a girlfriend!!  The other dogs like her but they are just like yea ok another dog big deal.  I got a couple of pics of her but need to upload them.  Also she has not pee'd or pooped yet and we have had her since last night.  She has eaten and drank but no potty.  Is this OK?

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Dogs digging out of fence
« on: June 13, 2008, 07:32:35 am »
Well Buble and Baxter have decided to start digging out of thier yard into ours when we are inside so they can get to the door.  This has been going on for about 2 months  We have tried just refilling the holes and putting objects in the hole so defer them from digging.

Well this week everyday they are now digging out of thier yard and then going and digging under our privacy fence and getting OUT! Luckily if I am inside I have all the blinds up so I can see our whole front and backyard.

They also have only gotten as far as the nieghbors house before I am running outside calling thier name and then they come back.

Does anyone know any tricks or ways to get them to stop digging under their fence or the privacy fence?

Collars, crates, & other cool things / dog/ baby gates?
« on: June 08, 2008, 10:16:09 am »
Now we think that Bell and Baxter are ready to be loose in the house.  We want to start gradually.  We REALLY want to keep them in the kitchen because it is tile and a very large area.
the only thing is we need a baby gate that will go across a 13 ft area. It is also going to come in hand y to keep the baby out of the kitchen when she starts to crawl and walk.  Any suggestions anyone???

Well hubby has taken over the bathing of the pups since I am now 8 months pregnant and about to pop!!

Well he is out of town for a couple of days and he said that he would bath them when he got back.  This afternoon Buble got disgusting with the sprinkler and the dirt.  He looked completely black!!  So I knew that I would have to bath him!

I pick him up to put him in the tub and he immediatly starts crying and than starts to freak out before I even have turned the water on.  It was a complete wrestling match.  I hurt my back in the process.

I dont get it we have had him since he was 7 weeks and he hasnt gotten any better.  It isnt that he doesnt like water becasue he plays in the sprinkler and the baby pool.  He also isnt scared of the bathroom because he goes in there all the time when the others are getting baths or if we are in the shower.  Help he is already bigger than Baxter and I dont know if I can do this much longer!!!!!

Collars, crates, & other cool things / Hlp with Toys!!!!
« on: May 26, 2008, 09:14:13 am »
We have some baby toys that ppl have gotten us for our upcoming new arrival and the dogs have decided that those are thiers!!!!
This morning they have already torn up two teddy bears that my grandmother got for Payton!  How do I teach them that those toys are for the baby and not for them.  I mean it isnt like they are toy deprived
I counted 30 toys in their basket.  I am not really worried about it now because we do keep that door shut to her room (except for this morning) but what about when she gets older and brings her toys out?  how do I teach them that they have their toys and she has hers?

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / How to walk 3 dogs?
« on: May 23, 2008, 05:04:25 pm »
As Buble is getting bigger it is getting much harder to walk all three dogs at the same time.  I dont think it would be a problem if I werent 8 months pregnant!

But since I am and Hubby is out of town alot what do yall thik is the best way to walk all three of them?  I am going to get a coupler but I am trying to wait until Buble is walking well on a lead with everyone else.

Should I do a couple of trips for right now?  Walk Baxter and Buble first and then walk Bell unless hubby is with me?

This is horrible about a poor little grey canary.
This guy really makes me mad!
Here it is:

Ugly grey canary is looking for new home.
The bird is unloved.
I am sick of hearing it cry itself to sleep.
It is an ugly, plan grey color.
Healthy and capable of all the things canaries do.
I am sick of feeding and cleaning up the cage of an ugly bird.
IF YOU WANT IT, I'LL TAKE AN OFFER.
BRING YOUR OWN CAGE.
I SNARL AT THIS UGLY GREY BIRD WHEN EVER I SEE IT.
SAVE IT FROM IT'S HOSTILE HOME. IT IS 3 MONTHS OLD.

We were outside letting the dogs have the run of thier yard and ours when my husband wanted to show me something on the computer.
I really dont leave the dogs outside unattended for that long but figured they would be alright for a little bit considering we have a 7 ft privacy fence all around our yard.
After about 20 minutes I ask my husband to let the dogs in because I had started to cook. He comes running in yelling that Buble want back there.
Well he likes to do things like this to me because he thinks its funny when I get worked up but he REALLY wasnt in the backyard!!!

I am in tears running in the front yard calling his name!!   I just know that either someone picked him up or that he had run out of our nieghborhood and gotten run over.
Well suddenly my husband starts laughing and tells me to look down the road.  About 3 houses down there is Buble with the nieghbors kids playing in the sprinkler.
I call him and he comes running as if saying "MOM cant you see that I was playing!"
Our nieghbor is a single mom with 4 young boys and she said that Buble must have heard them playing and decided he needed to play too.
I could have killed that little rascal!! ;D
Here is him after his bath in the sprinkler looking very innocent!!

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Question on Hip Dysplasia?
« on: May 20, 2008, 11:10:21 am »
The breeder of our two springers called me this morning and told me that she went to get her male's hips certified and he came back with a very mild case of hip dysplasia!

He is litter mate to Baxter our 2 year old springer and from the same breeding of our 3 month old Buble!  Baxter has had his hips checked since we have been taking him to the vet and everything has been checking out fine.

We have not had them certified though. Should we? Is that the best way of finding out if he has it?

He is nuetered so I was never going to breed him but because his full brother has it I worry about him.  Also Buble is from the very same breeding.  When can I have his hips checked?  I was told I could do a preliminary  test but it was 100% accurate!

Also should I show him or even think about doing anything with him since now it is in his line? Both parents, grandparents, and great grandparents all came out prefect with thier hips on mother and father's side.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Groans, Gripes, Brags & Boasts / A BREAK THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: April 19, 2008, 02:35:56 am »
At least to my husband and I it is.  We have been having alot of trouble with Bell showing alot of aggresiveness towards Buble.

Well this morning after three weeks of having him, they PLAYED together.  I mean really played.  She was wrestling with him and doing her big butt in the air for play stance.

The ywere doing zoomies all over the yard running from there area to ours.  baxter just looked at them crazily saying that it was way to hot to act like that!!HAHAH (it is about 81 degrees here today)

I think finnally Bell has accepted that he is here to stay and that her Daddy is still hers.   O I was so happy ;D ;D ;D
