Can anyone help? I am looking for a large paw print for use in a graphic for my new van. Has anyone out there got one? if so can they let me know.

If the worst comes to the worst I might have to get an ink pad and press gang Hovis or Bell to provide it!! ;D

Things are busy at the moment in the Dales, I've now got a part time job as well. Knowing how quite a few BPO members have horses, I thought I'd show off some of my work as a racecourse photographer.

My two used to be the same and still occasionally they become deaf, it always seems to be a balance between doing as you are told and is it more interesting than doing as you are told.

setting off for a walk is always a struggle until the excitement dies down, usually about 50 yards, after that the amount of pulling subsides until the "interesting factor" comes into play. The best method Ive found is to control the dog by holding the lead in my left hand at a comfortable height and having a loop of loose lead to where I hold the lead in my right. I then use the heel command and control slight pulling with my left hand and if they start to set off I have an additional bit of lead that can slip through my hand and gives me time to jerk on the collar and shout heel or leave, whichever is appropriate. This works quite well most of the time but there are still times when you have to dig your heels in.

The other alternate is to increase your amount of food you eat until you outweigh the dog once more!! - that one I think I'll investigate myself ;D

Happy Easter to all at BPO.

I've not been around recently due to work commitments - and I'm meant to be retired ;D.

My new newf van has arrived, a VW Transporter. so I'm currently looking for someone to convert the rear for the girls. Can anyone in the U.K. reccomend someone?

Last Monday I had a trip out to Devils Bridge, Kirkby Lonsdale in Cumbria. The place is super for swimming the dogs and benefits from a Burger van for me and ice cream van for the girls. A good day was had by all :)

Love to all,

How I support you all in this, I have a neighbour with 2 spaniels the owner when walking alway came past our yard with the two bitches. he would stop at the gate to look at Bell & Hovis whilst the spaniels barked agressively at them. (something they do to all dogs and humans). MY 2 would bark back, then he would walk away whilst I had to go outside and reprimand my dogs for barking. What makes it worse is that although a public right of way, the man has to go out of his way to use it.

What finally stopped him doing this was Bell and Hovis who escaped from the yard whilst I was carrying in shopping from the car. They heard his two spaniels barking and disappeared at a gallop in that direction. When I got there I was told that Bell had cleared a 3 foot gate to get into the garden and at the spaniels, the spaniels had disappeared inside the house.

There could have been a lot of trouble as a result but luckily the only outcome was that he keeps his dogs away from mine and he seems to be trying to control their aggression.

There seems to be a rule in this world that it is funny for small dogs to be aggressive towards large ones but wrong for a large dog to be provoked. It has just struck me that this rule translates well into human society and world politics, but I refuse to go there.

I feel that the best solution would perhaps be a three barks and you're out law, whereby large dog owners have the right on the third agressive bark of a small dog,to apply a boot to the dogs backside and launch it into next week!! ;D

It might not be fair, reasonable or correct but by god it wouldn't half ease the stress of the encounter.

A Happy day was had by Bell, Hovis and their taxi driver at the NNC show at St Helens, they even got a rosette for coming third in the brace competition! Unfortunately the skin member of the trio had little time to take pictures due to all the pampering required by the furry duo.

We all met friends old and new and I post a few quickly taken photos to give you a flavour of the show.
