My Rotty Sinbad did the same thing. Popped the screen out and was head and shoulders out the window after the crackhead neighbor. I wasn't home either but the guy tried to throw a biscut inside so he could close the window. Sinbad wanted no part of that. He hated that guy for good reason. Theres no open screens or screens at all in our house. We open from the top if we want to. Halo really does back down from the other dogs. No snarls or anything. Just a look makes him stop. I know we are lucky so far and the day will come that he changes. He will know who is boss here and keep respecting the boundaries. He did try to break out of our van window though. LOL.

Maybe you misunderstood. I am not training him to guard. He was just doing what the older dog (Brindle) was doing. He's been great with our dogs. Strange dogs are a different matter. Had a 145 lb Rotty that was the same way. Halo is under total control at ALL times. I take nothing for granted and do not trust him in certain situations. We use a side door at the vet for this reason. He loves the vet though. Maybe having been bounced around as a young pup helped socialize him somewhat. He was confiscated in DC at 8-9 weeks. In shelters and foster homes until 5.5 months. Lived with other dogs so he knew what was acceptable and not. He been great and not the trouble you read about Fila's on other boards. Jumping out of windows, nipping children etc.

Here's Halo (10 months) and Brindle (8.5 y/o. 80 lb. Pit/Shep mix). Halo learning how to guard. LOL.

Thank you. He went from 55 lbs to 135 in 5 months. Very well socialized and loves our other 2 dogs. I think everyone should own a Fila. Lol.
