General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: TROLL??
« on: October 14, 2005, 09:30:52 pm »
Hi!  CUTE picture!!!  Awwww....

Another thing a troll can do is just lurk and look for an "in" to gain information about people, or whatever his/her interest is.

People "troll" dog boards looking for dogs to snatch up for their breeding programs, or perhaps to use as bait for fighting dogs (yes it's awful, but they do it),  animals that they can sell to research facilities, etc.

That's why it's super important to be fully aware of who you're dealing with all the time...and don't trust someone just because they seem nice on the net.  A female poster may, in fact, be male, and vice versa.

If someone makes contact with you and wants something from you, personally, just make sure you don't do anything without checking out who that person is first.  In other words, just be VERY careful...with yourself, your children, and your animals!!!

Just a question, that may have been answered but I didn't see it.  Did you ever have his Thyroid tested?  I know someone suggested it.

If you haven't yet, ask the Vet to do a full Michigan Panel test.  Not an in-office test (it's not comprehensive enough).  They have to send it out, but you'll know everything about his thyroid after that.  And if it's fine, at least you'll have a baseline to go by later in case anything shows up.

We have the same problem with certain girls.  Mira a Newf, and Maggie a Golden HATE Lucy and Lucy hates them.  Lucy IS the problem.  She started on them when they were puppies - mothering/smothering.  Mira wanted none of it and as soon as the little Newf got big enough to say "STOP IT" effectively, she did.   Lucy had done the same to Maggie, who's a smaller Golden than Lucy, so Maggie made sure she had Mira on her side, and now they MUST be kept apart from Lucy.  They BOTH hate Lucy.  It's gotten pretty nasty in the past, but no serious injuries.

Separating them is a serious pain in the rear, but it keeps Lucy alive!!

Hope all is well with your boy now.  How's everything going?

I'm Donna and my "other" is Jacques.  Some of you already know us from NN...and other places!

We live on the Eastern Shore of MD, have eight Golden Retrievers, Three Newfs, One Chocolate Lab and too many cats!!   ;)

Yes we have lots of land, with trees, fields,  ponds and an inground pool.  We have plenty of fenced space for them...and a big house with nice comfy furniture for them to snooze in!!

Glad to meet all of you!!

Hi C!  I LOVE THEM!!!  But you already know that, don't you ???  ;D

Hi Everyone.  This is my first post here, but I'm sure many of you will recognize me from NN  :D

We have three Newfs and our original two (Mira and Molly) have been raised on Canidae or Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul (Adult).  Canidae is excellent...an d is easy on their digestive systems since it has probiotics and enzymes to break down the food for better absorpsion of nutrients.  The CS is also excellent, but you have to introduce it slowly.  After the pup is used to it...you'll have no digestive issues.  Ours love them both.

All of our dogs...all eight Goldens, one Lab and Three Newfs now eat Canidae.  But I would not hesitate one second to use the CS.  They didn't do well on Wellness, didn't do well on Nutro, and Molly came to us eating Eukanuba.  She did awful on it...IBS...but once we switched her to Canidae all has been great.

Since using the two foods above, we've had no digestive, skin, ear, growth, or allergy related problems.

As you can see, I HIGHLY recommend both of them!!
