Leaking isn't normal, nor is that color.  I used to express my greyhounds glands because they would get impacted if I didn't, and I didn't want to pay a groomer or vet to do it every time.  As far as I know, the expression should be kind of loose-toothpastey consistancy and brown, but normal poop color brown, not reddish-brown.  I think a trip to the vet for this one is probably warranted.

I was told to stop feeding puppy food after six months in order to slow down their growth, thereby protecting their joints.  You don't want them to grow too big too fast for their bones and joints - that's where hip/elbow/knee problems start.  The slower they grow, the better off they are...I think that's why some people say that this breed will grow until around 3 years old.

But I'm a newbie too, so I'm just relaying info that I've read or heard...

Hmmm, can you describe the goo?

Sounds funny, I know, but I'm dealing with goo too.  But my Crede's is eye goo.

Oh the second-to-last picture totally reminds me of the dog (Max?) from How the Grinch Stole Christmas!  (The cartoon, not the movie.)

What bunch of gorgeous dogs...makes me want a GP.  But, I think I'll stick with one dog-that's-as-big-as-a-horse for now...

This reminds me of yesterday:  I sat on the floor with the newspaper sale papers strewn all over.  My 11-month old son, Declan, was crawling around on them, and between him and Crede, I spent about half the time taking various pieces of paper out of their mouths.

Read an ad...hear Crede rip off piece of paper...grab chewed up gob of paper out of baby's mouth...read an ad...grab slobbery wad of paper out of Crede's mouth...read ad...chase down baby who's crawling around with ad in his mouth...force open Crede's mouth to find out where entire Target circular went...haha, just kidding on that last one!!!

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Green goop. Ew.
« on: November 24, 2005, 10:50:49 am »
When we got Crede a few weeks ago, he had a cold and some conjunctivitis .  We put him on antibiotics and had this clear ointment to put in his eyes.  Everything cleared up but now he's got the green goopies again in his eyes.  Is this normal?  Something to be concerned about?  He hasn't been around any other dogs where he'd contract conjunctivitis again.  And his eyes aren't the blood red that normally accompanies puppy pink-eye.  So what gives?  Anyone else have this? ???

Yeah, ask us...a bunch of enablers...whe ther you should add to your pack!   ::)

So, when're you bringing the little one home???   :P

Holy crow, Jenn, that's terrible!  I sure hope Molly's feeling better soon.  What a scary thing to have happen.  I swear, pups are so much like babies...every thing goes in the mouth....

Sending you lots of good thoughts!

I have to solidly agree with every suggestion nodognow has made.  You have to document, document, document!  And if you leave holes, Swift WILL find them.

I'm so glad your husband is going to be home with you where he BELONGS!  How traumatic for the both of you to have gone through all of this BS!

Here's to a better weekend for you both!
