Hi,

Yup I agree on the lost at birth twins, Fumble. We are also not to far away. Your the cape and I'm in Lowell so hopefully we'll get a chance to introduce the boys one day.

AC, I see you are from Newfoundland, do you see many of the breed at home.  I was surprised when looking for a pup I couldn't find a breeder of Newfs in Newfoundland, just struck me as interesting, and I wonder if the breed is very common in your home land.

Hi,

Told you that would be next  :P.

A little tougher for us anyway. Winslow still nips and grabs. Grabs is better he doesn't bite to hurt more  just to hold on. Some say it is the water instinct,  :-\ you know someone in trouble and the newf will grab an arm or wrist to pull you to shore.

We want to water train http://www.dogscouts.com/wet.shtml so this is a tougher training choice. He will need to learn the controlled bite. So for now we are working that one.

Sherry,

I commend you for the dignity you diplayed and the love you showed for Petra. I am sure her trip accross the Rainbow Bridge will be quick and her tongue and tail will wag with joy to be released from the torment she suffered.

Hi,

Winslow was the same, I suggest maybe move the crate to an area IZ can't see you, (We left winslow downstairs in his) He may see your motion at night and think you are up so maybe you want to play outside too.

Crate IZ where you can here him, no water after a time you decide in the evening, Figure 4 -6 hours between "pit Stops" monitor Volume, (IZ will mark territory every time he gets the chance to.) The longer you can hold IZ off the better his control will be.

Winslow is 6 months now sleeps out of his crate and goes from 11:30 to about 6:30 before he comes and gets us to say he needs to go out.

Good Luck

Hi Sherry and all,

Yes there are bad people and pets, Yes we need to be aware of the bad that can happen. I am sorry for anyone who has or had to live through "bad things" THAT SUCKS.

I do not live in a "Care Bear world" and those liitle bears kind of freak me out anyway;-).  I don't live in a musical, comedy or a drama either.

I just wanted to point out that Sherry has physically spoken with all the possible characters they may impact hers and Petra's life. I think she is capable of deciding what is best and she is doing a fabulous job!!

All our opinons have made her think that is good!! I still believe it will all work out for the best, sorry I'm an optimist on that.

Sherry sleep well on your thoughts, and as has been said, buy 5 pages of posters you are supported by all BPOers and we will be here for you no matter how things turnout.

Hi,

Wow now this thread has gone to quoting what the "ex cop"said. I missed his posts.

Look Smohr has enough to think about with Petra, She is talking to the "ex cop" she is talking to the protection trainers, and her vet  at this point our thoughts on motives of anyone involved in Petra's future are not of value to Smohr, what more can she do and for those who think he should be put down I have not read anything where that was not still in the solution.  Let Smohr and her family get through the Holidays with the hope they want to hold and this will all work out for everyones best interest come the new year.

Lets not assume everyone has an evil streak. It is the holidays, Lets assume, the Ex Cop is a nice guy and Petra is destined to serve in this capacity.

That is my hope.

Hi,

I tried the search and FAQ's but I can't find how to update the Paw Print photo that shows with my Profile  ??? I have added the photos to the paw print but I'd like to get a more updated photo of Winslow to show when I post with out having to use additional options.

How do I do that? I see other more Savy PC users do make changes all the time.

As you can see from the attached he has grown into quite a handsome boy at 6 months.

Hi,

You guys ae in Lousiana right? There must be some voluteer phone work to aid in Hurricane relief. Get a portable phone and a headset, I'm sure some agency would love to have someone o make follow up calls or stuff envelopes, try the red cross I'm sure they can find a way to put him to good use!! And he'd be really helping people in need so he could feel real good about doing it.

Hi IZ,

Wow this is funny for me. Winslow will turn 6 months on 12/28 and you seem to be going through everything he has. We still have the leash in mouth issue. Not as bad as before.

We go to Puppy class, and they had us just snap the leash from his mouth with a correction. I hated doing that, and a few baby teeth did and will chip,  :o (Winslow didn't even notice the chipping)  Now we didn't tug and yank the leash but a consistent snap (like shaking water from a wet paint brush) with a "no" each time until he lets go of the leash, then PRAISE LIKE CRAZY  ;D and eventually he caught on.

Wait till the nipping the wrists starts. I bet that is one of your next posts  ;)

Hi,

Winslow is on Science Diet large breed puppy and we add some fish mostly canned sardines, salmon or Mackeral, occasional tuna. He is doing great on this gaining and growing as he should and is full of spunk!!

You can also look in over at www.newf.net  they are all about the newf and have dedicted forums to diet and health stuff. You might find more people familiar with the program you are looking at.

Rich

PS IZ is adorable and Great name!!
