Food Discussion & Information / Re: Food amounts
« on: September 14, 2006, 06:42:35 am »
not an expert but i would go by the bag as long as he is healthy and your vet says he looks good each visit. im sure the amount will increse with size.  amounts im sure vary from brand and you are feeding a very good brand so it may seem less to some people who use a less quality food.

we dont have a dog park but ozzy gets so excited to play with other dogs that she will bark and that generally scares them, so they either get yelping and run or sneek up on him and attach from behind. he is so non-aggressive he really does not know what to do when they growl and snap at him. i honestly dont think he could or would fight back if a big dog went at him. patti

oh my ,  i feel absolutely horrible for you. i would be lost and devistated if i had to get rid of my ozzy.  sometime life just sucks.  wish i had some words of wisdom to help you, but just know that when some people say such disheartning things, you are not alone.  i bet almost everyone on this forum would feel the same way. you are grieving and it takes time.  take care and know your daughter really needs you now also.patti

Newfoundland Discussions / Re: Tell me about your Newfie?

ozzy is 20 months old.  he is the sweetest most caring dog i have every had.  he is funny, sloppy, devoted , loving, and playful.  he could probably be less stubborn but i cant picture live without him now.  he has taken over our family, and become my best friend. he is alot of work brushing and cleaning up after him, but just looking in his soulful eyes i know its so worth the hair on the floor and drool on everything.  patti

maybe someone can help me.  we like to take ozzy to the beach at our trailer but cant take him off the leash or he is trying to save everyone.  i know this is instinct but he is not sure how to do it.  he just swims at you and almost over you, so he is just scratching you to death.  can someone maybe give me some pointers about how to teach him to rescue nicely??  patti
