My girls love to ride- any time, to anywhere.  Jesse is another story. He does what we call his boat-anchor impression when we even THINK about taking him somewhere.  He will get himself turned around, so he is facing directly away from the open car door, and drop to the ground and I swear he somehow makes himself weigh twice as much as he normally does, just so we cannot get him in the car.

Jesse is my weirdo- several of the dogs in my life have rooed a lot, but he is the first I have ever known that will put in the effort to make his "ROOOO" sound like words.  Understandable words, at that!  He says "Hello", "out", "I wanna go", "I love you" , "My Mom-mom" ,and sometimes even puts it together, such as "I wanna go out", or "I love my Mom-Mom".  I am working on getting him on video, so when I finally catch him in time, I will post the videos.

Transporting & Traveling With Dogs / Re: Transport, sorta... new wheels

Newflvr: she is on potassium bromide daily, with melatonin at bedtime.  So far, she has been on it this will be her third month, and it has really reduced the frequency and severity of her seizures.  In the 3 months before starting the meds, she had 13, I think, and most of those were two at a time.  Seems they always happen when she is most excited, and when we are least prepared, so I thought maybe if I *WAS* prepared, she wouldn't have any.  Lately though, we have warning up to 24 hours in advance, thanks to her "alert dog" Jesse.

Thought y'all might like to see what I have been doing in my spare time these past few weeks.  The theory behind it is, with my girl having seizures, but loving our nature walks, and her weight, which is almost up to 200 lbs already, I needed a usable solution.   I set to work building her a wagon to ride in if she happened to have a seizure while we were out somewhere, so I would still be able to get her home.   I figured out what I might like to have on hand during these hikes, and what would just make life easier in general if we took the dogs out somewhere to an event or whatever, and this is what I came up with.  Note that the pictures do not include the quilted mat I made to fit the bed of the wagon, and the bumper pads made for around all the sides.  One side will be easily removable, and fit back in place easily, for ease of loading/unloading.  So anyway, here it is...[/b]

If I were to go that route here, I would have to suspend it from the ceiling or it would not remain for more than an hour!

In a pub, I could understand WHY- if this tree looks upside down to you, you have had too much to drink!

Sounds more like separation anxiety to me.  That would explain the destructivenes s while out of the crate with you away, and just extends to being the same way while in the crate, as it has not addressed the actual problem.  I can find you a bunch of info on separation anxiety if needed, but a quick search of this site, or google should turn up a bunch of info.

Monthly Photo Contests / Re: 2006 BPO Calendar Information
« on: November 27, 2006, 11:16:47 pm »
Harley is such a poop; he WILL NOT let me get a picture of him!! My son and I are exhausted from chasing him around for the last 24 hours trying to get a cute, decent picture of him. Oh well, that is why we don't enter the picture contests. Well Maybe we can run him ragged this afternoon and he will be to tired to object?
Send him to me- I promise my guys will tire him out in short order.  They tire me out instantly!

Awesome looking dogs! I have a question though -what color is Chimera? And did her color change as she grew up, or does it look different due to the lighting?

Frankie at 17 months is 34" at the shoulder, and 187 lbs, and still growing.  Jesse at 17 months is 29" and 125 lbs, and must be kept on the thin side for the safety of his hips/elbows.  Imani is pretty big, but hasn't been weighed recently.  She is 2 1/2 years, so she should be done growing, other than filling out
