My husband said the same thing until we got Rookie our male Standard Poodle.  He's 55 lbs at 4 months and there's nothing "foofy" about him!  ;)

Naming a new puppy can be so hard!  I have a 10 month old female Newf named Jinx, her registered name is "Allegiance Just My Luck".  I have yet to hear of another dog w/that name...hehe   I must say I like the name Oso...

I buy almost everything from Petedge...I haven't found items any cheaper anywhere!  (petedge.com)
It's a Midwest wire crate item # MW63648 (put # in search)
XL crate 48Lx30Wx33H $76.99... not sure what shipping is though.  I don't know if this is big enough for a Great Dane...good luck!

This thread sure made me feel better!  Jinx has been a terror for several weeks now.  I have been trying to rack my brain trying to figure out what her problem is.  After reading everyone's responses I feel she IS trying to dominate us (not my sweet Jinx!)  I've contemplated calling her breeder and seeing what she thinks.  She's been through basic obedience and it's like she doesn't know a sngle command!  She starts again at the end of March, so I'm hoping that will do some good. I don't have the housetraining issue, but she's almost 10 months old.  There have been many a days I tell her she's going back to her breeder...then she looks at me and I melt.  Oh well, at least we're not alone in our  problems (Thank God!).... :D

I just read "Amazing Gracie" too... I loved it!! My husband says it's his turn to get the dog of his dreams and he wants a Great Dane.  We are now looking into breeders and doing our homework.  I've also been checking out rescues in our area, but no luck.  I found a beautiful male on another rescue, but they only adopt out to a certain area...oh well.  I'm sure he'll get his GD someday!
