We will be getting our AM, Boudreaux in two weeks.  Here is what I need help with.  Tsu is 12, and MY dog.  She likes Matt and the girls (we have been married 3 years soon) but he and the girls don’t consider her “theirs”.  I understand that.  However, now that zero hour is almost upon us, my step-girls (12&14) keep talking how they want a dog (for their momma’s house).  Matt says they won’t look at Boudreaux as theirs because he isn’t at “their house”.  Then again, we are getting him April 15th and May 23 they will be at our house for the summer so they get to puppy sit and be with him all day, every day!  UGH!  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to help make it feel like he is as much their dog as ours? I know I am probably worried about nothing, but I really want them to look at him as their dog as much as their little brother’s.

(And I honestly don't see a dog at momma's house in the future, so Boudreaux is it.)

Anything Non-Dog Related / Skinbaby's surgery is DONE!!
« on: March 14, 2006, 08:06:29 am »
Zac's surgery is done and we are back home!  He did great and slept after he got back from recovery, all the way home, and then down for the night after we gave him a little food...Until 6:00 this morning...coul d the little booger NOT sleep in?!?!  He is doing great today.  I have put up the riding toys and he is coloring in his highchair.  I will stay home again tomorrow with him and if all is well, he will go back to daycare Friday!  He has an inch long incision in the groin and a smaller one just a tad further "south".  I will spare you all and not post a photo (although I have one)  ;)  Thanks to everyone for the positive thoughts and prayers, they worked!! <hugs>

Baby Zachary (18 months) goes in Monday the 13th for surgery at Children's Hospital in Birmingham.  He has an undecended testicle and although I guess that is fairly common and not a HUGE deal<in the big scheme of things>, he is still my one and only and I am just a bit anxious for it to be over!  Any prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated!

I know how much the BPO'ers pull for one another... :)

Thanks~Jacquie

Chow Discussions & Pictures / Happy Birthday Tsu!
« on: February 28, 2006, 06:12:11 pm »
My baby Tsu is 12today!  I can hardly believe it!  I will have had her 12 years on Mothers Day.  I think she needs a meat snack for dinner tonight.   ;D   I am trying to decide wether she will love or hate Boudreaux when he gets here.  I can hear her now..."great birthday present mom  >:(

Ok, I haven't researched other breeds, so I am not sure what prices run, but all American Mastiffs are $1200, period.  It doesn't matter what breeder you choose.  My question is this...I have had people ask me at work, "how much do they cost, if you don't mind me asking?"  When I have told them they look at me like I have lost my mind!  One of the ladies just kept repeating..."you ORDERED a DOG??" over and over. <sigh>  I wish I had some good comeback when they ask the cost and then are flabbergasted when the hear the price.  IMO, unless you are interested in BUYING one, what does it matter the money they cost?  I don't want to sound rude mind you, so I wouldn't say that, I just wish I had a great comeback.  Any suggestions?

Games & Jokes / single black female
« on: February 22, 2006, 04:47:32 pm »
Dont know if any of you had heard this, but I thought it was cute and a genius idea!! ;)

*********************************************************
This has to be one of the best "singles" ads ever printed. It is reported to have been listed in the Atlanta Journal:

SINGLE BLACK FEMALE seeks male companionship, ethnicity unimportant. I'm a very good girl who LOVES to play. I love long walks in the woods, riding in your pickup truck, hunting, camping and fishing trips, cozy winter nights lying by the fire. Candlelight dinners will have me eating out of your hand. I'll be at the front door when you get home from work, wearing only what nature gave me. Call (404) 875-6420 and ask for Daisy, I'll be waiting....

Over 15,000 men found themselves talking to the Atlanta Humane Society about an 8-week-old black Labrador retriever.

Helpful Groups & Dogs in Need / Animal Rescue Site
« on: February 01, 2006, 10:51:43 am »
www.theanimalr escuesite.com

One of my friends forwarded me this site.  I put it in my favorites and go to click it every day.  I just wanted to put it on here to make it known to more animal lovers.  Funding for food is paid by site sponsors, whose banners appear after you click the purple button, and goes to the different shelters/sanctuaries (They mention the names on the page and there is a link to check them out).  Also th site has a site “store” with cute items and proceeds from any sales go to feed the animals as well.

Not only that, but at the top of the page there are tabs that take you to The Hunger Site, Breast Cancer Site, Child Health Site, Literacy Site and the Rainforest Site that all work the same way.  I think it takes me all of 2 minutes to click on all of them each day.  I did a search on Snopes.com to make sure it was ledgit and it is.

Just thought this would be a great place to spread the word! ;D

American Mastiff Discussions & Pictures / Why is the AM such a problem?
« on: January 29, 2006, 11:07:18 pm »
I was checking out some other forums and the discussions were so HEATED about AM's!  I just don't get it!  I know I am new and don't even HAVE mine yet, but why the hate?  I am aware that they aren't AKC registered and that is ok.  I don't plan on breeding.  It just seems so silly to get feathers all ruffled over a breed of dog.  Boggles the mind....

American Mastiff Discussions & Pictures / Help Name Our Puppy!
« on: January 17, 2006, 04:24:06 pm »
We are expecting our AM puppy around Easter.  I am in search of a big, strong name...we have been calling him Magnus since July but I am not 100% sold on it-there are so many Magnus' out there.  We have also bounced around Kahn, Ra, Angus...Just thought someone might think of a really cool, masculine name.  I would like to stick to one or two syllables too.  Thanks!!
