Just click on ID search and enter his #.  Poor guy is too handsome to be there.  :(

I sent the info to the local rescue but they're so busy already I don't know if they'll have room for another one.

Name: Tiny
Age:2
Sex:F
Size:XL
Delete Tiny is a wonderful dog who would make a family with a yard very happy. I adopted her from the pound myself a year ago and recently found myself with out a place to keep her. She is super friendly and great around other dogs and children. Shes good inside and outside, loves playing in water and going for long hikes in the mountians. Please dont let her size scare you, she is the most harmless pooch Ive ever met. I have been looking to find her a good home for 3 months now and no one seems to want a big dog. Im asking a $65 adoption fee just to make sure she goes to a good home. Please help me find her somewhere happy to live so I dont have to resort to a shelter!! Tiny is also spayed and up to date on all of her shots :)

German Shepherd Discussions / Question about ears
« on: March 17, 2006, 04:29:41 pm »
Is it possible for an adult dog whos ears don't stand to start to stand or is it a lost cause once they reach adulthood?  Is there anything the owner could do to encourage the ears to stand?

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Depressed Doggy
« on: March 17, 2006, 04:05:53 pm »
Holly has been depressed since yesterday and I don't know what to do to pull her out of it.  We went for her daily trip to the dog park which she LOVES and as soon as we got there two dogs (aus shep I believe) attacked her before she even got through the gate.  they just ganged up on her snapping and snarling for no reason!  The stupid owners hardly even did anything.  The lady called them but they didn't listen and with her soft voice I understand why.  The man didn't even do that much.  I finally got between them and my dog and got them off of her.  As soon as I let go of her and she started off they got close to her so I called her back to me which she did instantly and they went after her again!  and again the owners did nothing until *I* got their stupid dogs to back off by getting in between and blocking them with the leash.  They decided to leave but the damage to my Holly was already done.  Since then she has been moping around.  She doesn't get excited to play, she isn't excited to eat.  She just lays around looking so sad I want to cry for her.  When we went to the park to play today she barely even wanted to play ball and that's her alltime fav thing in the world!  She wouldn't go have anything to do with the other dogs either, even the ones she knew.  As soon as we came back home she just went back to laying around.  This is VERY unusual for my active and loving dog. I don't know what to do to perk her back up. :(  Is there anything I can do to make her happy again?  I hate seeing her like this.  It just breaks my heart.   :'(

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / How would you handle it?
« on: March 06, 2006, 04:21:58 pm »
How would you handle4 a bad mannered dog at the park?  Some (usually goldens :() are bad with other dogs and most people will do somethig about their dogs if something comes up but how do you handle the ones that don't?  Sun morning i took my son with me to the dog park because he likes to run around throwing balls for our dog.  While there he got grabbed by a great dane.  He wasn't roughed up and clearly the young dog/puppy was just trying to play but what I don't get was the owners attitude.  She said "he's ok" in reference to my son after her dog grabbing him and then proceeded to tell me that she didn't stop her fdog because she thought it was going to bite HER son instead of mine!  First of all, shouldn't you keep a closer eye on your dog when you know it bites kids?  There are usually kids in the park with their dogs and on this day there were several.  Second, why if you know your dog has this issue, don't you train it instead of blaming your son for knowing better than to run around her (the dog).  I honestly didn't know what to say to this woman.  She never even raised her voice to tell the dog to stop!  Nor did she hurry over to make sure her dog didn't do serioius harm to my son.  What's worse, there most of the kids there were toddlers or just over so what if your dog had been "just playing" with one of them?  My son had two teeth marks and a scratch on his arm but it could have been worse!  I just don't know what to do with people like that!  >:(

Sorry, needed to vent a bit.  Any suggestions about how to handle her next time?  She's a regular so unfortunately she and her ill-mannered dogs will be back.

Golden Retriever Discussions / What happened to the Goldens?
« on: March 06, 2006, 04:12:50 pm »
We go to the dog park every day and the majority of the dogs are well behaved.  Of the ones that aren't, 90-95% seem to be golden retrievers.  I thought these were supposed to be sweet, reliable family dogs.  Why is it almost every one of them at the park has a serious attitude problem?  Is it just something around here or are they bad all over?  It makes me glad I didn't get one after all!

Food Discussion & Information / RMB Q
« on: March 02, 2006, 04:01:58 pm »
Ok, I tried switching my dog to raw meat and bones and she's doing great on the meat part but whenever I give her bones she burries them somewhere and refuses to eat them.  Any ideas on how to get her enough calcium?  She also refuses any form of chicken unless it's disguised in other food.
