Copied and posted.  How long does it take for them to take notice?

Nice stack. He'll do well.

Sticking with theme, has this book club read Sick Puppy,
by Carl Hiaasen?  It's a mystery and supposed to be good.

I'm also up for Interpreter of Maladies.  I think some of my book picks are yesterday's news.  I need to read so many kid books all year long, I don't get to read the grown-up stuff.

I'm up for Blindness or The Time Traveler's Wife, as long as this gets finished before summer's over.  I'd also really like to read Donohue's The Stolen Child.  I bought Light Housekeeping, but put it on the shelf.  If anyone likes sci-fi, The Uglies trilogy (YA) is fantastic.

I'm sorry I can't help more, just remember that she'll be looking to you about what's happening.  Stay calm and positive even if you are panicing on the inside.  She's trusting you and will only get more anxious if she's getting "worry" vibes from you.  Good luck-

That momma is beautiful.

Okay, still no digital camera.  But here are a couple pics of mom and dad.  This is how Wyatt should look all grown up.

What a smart boy!  (Personally, I get nervous when they're THAT smart.)

I'm a novice at this myself.  I crate our puppy at night so we have had good luck from 10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.  I wonder what would happen if you set your alarm to wake just before 3 a.m. for a couple of nights to let him out before the accident, and then set the alarm later (say,  half an hour) each night or two until you reach 6 a.m.?  So tonight and tomorrow night up at 3, Fri-3:30, Sat 4 a.m., etc.  Just brainstorming.  Good luck -

Yes, the fact that so many of you went through the same thing is reassuring.  I just wish Jasper was a bit brighter about the whole thing.  Every time I get the puppy successfully distracted away from him, he gets jealous and comes back out to me and the puppy.  The whole thing starts all over again.

It kind of sounds like you all clean around here normally.  I thought you didn't have to clean if you had the excuse of needing to "train" (play with) dogs.  That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.

Okay, this child is just toooo cute for words.

I am so glad you posted this because I was about to.  I am having an identical situation with my new puppy and old Jasper.  Jasper is a passive coonhound and the vet said he will probably not put Wyatt in his place like I was hoping.  He told me to be happy that Jasper wasn't trying to kill the pup.  Wyatt keeps lunging for Jasper's, um, well, stuff under his tail.  They keep swaying back and forth right at Wyatt's eye level.  I'm sorry this is a little inappropriate, but can you imagine sharp puppy teeth there?  So, I will be watching for all the advice you get.
