This is Erin posting under Tim's ID since I'm on his laptop.  I'm so sorry to hear about Lady.  I'm sure Sadie is going through the grieving process. Have you tried giving her her favorite foods I know she's a people food fiend from our meetngreets. With our past few losses we had three at the time so it didn't hurt the others as badly since they still had a buddy. When you're ready you may want to get her another buddy but definitely don't rush into it.  With Winslow living so close you should try meeting up with him so maybe she can cheer up a bit.  Let us know if you need anything...the NE Newf Pack is always ready to help out like Rich said.  Hopefully we can have another meetngreet once it cools off a bit so Sadie can get some buddy time.

RIP Lady. And hugs to you all!

Erin

Good to see you guys.  Mr. Fumble looks like he's having a great summer.  Are there any beaches on Cape Cod that are dog friendly?  ???  Geez, beaches & dogs go together like ice cream & cake!   ;D

BTW, are Fumble & Bear really related?  If so, how cool is that?

I don't think Eiren answered the second half about the Beaches. During tourist season (Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends) I believe Eiren has said only the Offroad Beach is open to dogs, the rest of the year just about anywhere goes. Search the Newf Pics or Meet N Greet forums for Cape or Cape Cod and you should get a bunch of hits from our visits with Eiren, Stacey, and Fumble.

I hope Stacey gets the chance to meet Bear, Jamie, and Micheal, that would be awesome.

Discussions & Information on Grooming / Re: Newfie grooming question

Jaz & Mr Wiggles covered it. Best way to put it is what appeals to you. We like you don't show but try to keep Kali looking proper. We trim the hair between her toes and then coming up the back of the foot to what equates to our wrist or ankle, from that point on it is only thinning shears to even up her feathering. Ears are the important one to me and we do them with thinning shears slightly longer but following the contour of her ear. I personally love leaving the hair on her feet long so when shes swimming it fluffs out but its not a good idea since debris gets stuck in the hair and irritates her paws.

Let me start with I am a gun owner, and finish with it is illegal to discharge a firearm within 500' of another person's dwelling unless doing so for self defence in all of New England. The only state I don't know for fact is Maine, but I would assume it is this way just about everywhere with all the antigun laws now.

Be very careful, anyone shooting in such a reckless manner is very dangerous and unfortunatly I think your two boys are probable wise to be as afraid as they are.

Please don't tie your dogs out it makes them a very easy target, try to make a solid fence either livestock mesh or chainlink setback along your property line or if you can afford it a privacy type fence.
Finally I don't know what the police situation is in your area but if you are affraid of this guy and I think you should be, consider going to the next level. For us it would be the state police, even try talking to the local chief, just be sure it is documented.

Anything Non-Dog Related / Re: Leaving high school with a bang!

The year before I graduated a local school had the classic Goldfish in all the toilets. My class did two pranks one was harmless and I can't even remember the details but the one that made the news was class of 2000 painted on anything and everything, the football field were commencemnet was, both press boxes, one of the dugouts, a retaining wall, and a couple of prominent cliffs around town.

While destructive my personal favorite was the super glue in all the locks that some kids did down south a while back.

I echo most of what has been said. Kali is my first newf but my family has been around Newfs since before I was born. For food we feed Canidae All Life Stages. I don't know the content off hand but it works out to be a semi premium food. Some people on here have to feed food that is more suited to sit on your plate than in a dogs bowl (due to their dogs allergies), those are the true premiums.

I think the best place for you to get some hand time with newfs would be a get together for your local Newf Club. When we get together with the New England crew there is usually 150 dogs.

Poor guy, Erin told me the majority of the story as its been posted. I think a lawsuit would be more trouble than it will be worth. Aven ues I would persue include the state licensure board, any accreditors that the clinic may have such as AHHA, and finally the wopper the credit card company. The credit card company could prove the best avenue as an unauthorized charge is pretty serious these days. Again good luck to you guys, hope Corbyn's battle is only easier from here on out.

Recieved this email last night from the NCNE mailing list, I realize we already know most of the New Englanders but if anyone can think of other appropriate places to post.

I am a member of the Newfy Club and have lost my Newf when visiting
Londonderry NH.

She got out of the house we where staying at on April 19 at 10PM.   She has
a training collar on and a red Invisible fence collar.

They were just taking her out for a walk and were in the process of changing
collars when she bolted the door.
We have contacted the local and surrounding police, Vets, NHMSPCA and
Shelters. We have also called "Home Again" (CHIP) and the Invisible fence
company.
We have driven all the neighborhoods and placed posters in stores and other
locations to keep her visible.

The local number in NH to call is 603-437-0707,
Cell 617-947-4847 other numbers 603-203-0344.
E-mail for NH is dawn.x.warren@ge.com

My e-mail is dlg@phin.org  or home e-mail on file with you is not working at
this time vtski@comcast.net (hope to have this working soon.
Thanks for you help!
