I definitely want to go!  My rescue Boxer needs socialization!  She's great with other dogs, very shy with other people, but not aggresive.  So any chance I get!!  My names Heatherton by the way I live in midtown, Mobile.

Hello all.  I was coming home the other night and a gentleman was walking two danes down the street and upon talking he told me about this site.  I've been browsing and it's very cool!!  I had a 130lb. German Shepard, Navarre, that I just lost.  He was my baby, he loved me for 61/2 full years!  Funny enough, his collar said I AM the Big Dog!  I also have a rescue boxer that I've had for about 4 months now, she's 5 and her name is Daphne.  She's a bit small, even for a boxer, or maybe she's just small to me!  She's about 55lbs, but not very tall.  She was an abused and neglected dog.  But she is soooo loving and wags her whole back end!  But she's very timid around stangers and she freezes when people come over.  So, I'm slowly trying to socialize her so if anyone has any tips let me know please.  I also have a cat named Stone who since his buddy Navarre is gone has decided he's the security for the house!!  I by the way am Heatherton and I live in Mobile, AL.  Nice to be here!

I'm new to this site and was just browsing when I read your post.  I had a 6yr old German Shepard that I just lost on Mother's Day, so I'm still a bit raw.  However, he was diagnosed with HD and something with his elbow (I forget)before he was a year.  I agree with everyone on the surgery issue, he's not done growing yet!!  The swimming sounds great.  I also had Navarre, my boy, on a glucosamine product called Synovi G3.  I got it from my vet, but I think you can get it elsewhere also.  You do have to pay attention to what kind of glucosamine product you get.  You want one that does have MSM in it.  Anyway, his hips started getting bad this year and I was told about this product, I had been giving him another glucosamine product, within 3 weeks I could see a dramatic difference in the way he was moving and I was able to drop his anti-inflammatory meds without any problem.  Good luck.          Heatherton
