OK, WAIT.  These people, supposedly breeders, called the human society to tell them that someone didn't come and pick up their puppy!?!?!?!?!?!?!?  OH, these people are winners I'll give them that!!

Maybe Matt's mom is giving Gilligan some TLC, I'm sure he needs some too!!!  Well, I ditto that the lab needs a friend!!!

Holy cow he has gotten big!!!!  I love the first one where he's studying the cuz ball.  He's like, "go ahead, I dare ya."  Too cute!!

Sounds like he might just need some extra time to get used to kibble.  You may be on the right track mixing in some chicken and rice.  Good luck!!

How long has he not been eating???

My GSD will do that some time, my first one wouldn't eat to the point that he would throw up bile.  My vet said that some dogs are just picky eaters, and some still eat like a wild dog/wolf; they won't eat for days then they gorge themselves if you let them.  My first GSD did that, I started to just leave the food out for him and he would eat when he was ready.  I know  for some it's hard to do that; I wouldn't be able to do it now that's for sure, but can you leave his food out?  Does the vet seem to be worried about the weight loss?  Oh, some dogs get funny about eating when the weather changes too.

Whew!!!  You are a high energy person!!!  Sounds like a high energy dog, like a lab would be a good match.  I love the blocky heads too.  And it sounds like you know if you need to take a step back and breath.  I believe everything happens for a reason.

I know that this board is called Big Paws, but I'm pretty sure no one would run you off!!!  When I first joined, my GSD had passed away and the only dog I had was Daphne, who's actually small for a boxer!!!  and I'm still here!!

Just keep us in the loop!!

I read the title and thought, oh crap.  So I say, oh crap!!!!  OK, first you were getting Gilligan, then the female (Mary Anne??), then both you and the "breeders" thought Gilligan would actually be better for you, now they want to keep him?!?!?!?!? :-\  Sounds very wishy-washy to me.  So now as far as they're concerned you're just out of a dog, after waiting, visiting....an d endless pictures  they have the gaul to say, "you know....we just can't part with him.  Sorry"  I certainly hope you didn't give them a down payment and if you did that money had better be in your hands right now!!!  Oh, I am so livid for you!!!!!

OK, deep breath.....As for the lab, not much of a lab person here either.  My friends have them, they're great, I just don't want one.  ZooCrew makes a good point, don't jump at a puppy just because it's there and you've been waiting for one.  Take a step back and really think about what you want.  Take your time, there are plenty of babies out there.  Good Luck!!

Daphne just had a tumor removed a couple weeks ago, all is fine.  Sending good thoughts to your sister and family.
Get well Gracie

I too have missed this!!!  Congrats!!!  He's sooo cute.  I was curious about the one puppy too, if that's typical?  Is this Jigsaw's first baby?  She looks/sounds like she's doing fabulously!!  When I was little and my parents bred, I always worried that the puppies would get squished!!!  So every morning I would do a squirm count to make sure they were all ok!!

I had Navarre on Synovi G3 and it worked wonders for him.  I think you can get it in powder form and its cheaper that way.  I started Issy on PhyCox (?), it's kind of one step up from G3 I haven't looked it up online yet to see if I can find it any cheaper, it's like $40 for 120 chewable tablets.

He is too cute!!!!

I'm sure the classes, and age, will help with that issue!!  When Issy met my neighbors toy poodle for the first time she picked him up by the head and started to carry him around!!  She thought he was one of her toys!!  But they became fast friends with time!!!

Welcome, and good luck!
