Here is Gabbi or Gabi, not sure how Dot is spelling it. We picked her up Tuesday but computer problems would not let us put up the pictures until now.....

We had a great time in Calgary. Our first show in months and Sara's 1st show. Sara did way better in the ring the we expected. She was the only puppy that had not been to handling classes. She behaved like a pro! Although she did not win anything, we were very proud.
Amy didn't want to be there the first day. The 2nd day was one of her best days....and she came in dead last...not sure what that judge was looking for...the last day she did pretty good and took best of opposite for 2 points....1 more and she will have her championship!
Joy performed great all weekend but did not get any points, she did get reserve on the last day.

Our reservation at the hotel was screwed up...it was made November...we got a nicer room but it was smaller and with 3 dogs and a kid, not fun. There was also a hotel fire but at least it wasn't ours.
On the good side, we got to spend time with friends we haven't seen in months! (and got to see some Borzois!!!)

Talon showed for the 1st time last weekend. It almost did not happen as they would not let him enter with Sara, our wolfhound puppy. We were lucky a lady benched near us came to his rescue and let him use "Duke", a very nice beagle.
He really enjoyed it and did a great job!
I think he had more fun on the last day...he got to spend a lot of time with one of his best new buddies Ivor....pics below

Well we are off to another dog show, the first this year for us. Have been counting down the sleeps, can't wait, I love the excitement!!!!
Sara will be competing against her siblings(two sisters and her brother), and Amy, and another dog, not related.
Joy has some competition too, there are going to be 11 newfs.  It is hard to get that many at one show. Last summer we went to a show where we were the only newf, and it was a huge show.
Anyways, wish us luck, we would like to come home with a couple dogs finished, not likely, but hopefully.  Amy needs 3 and Joy needs 5.
We will come back with some pics.
Talon, our 6 year old, is going to try junior handling this weekend, he will be in the 4-6 year class.  Not sure who he will handle yet, but we have friends that own whippets, or he could try with Sara.

Newfoundland Discussions / New baby coming to Prairietrail

Hi guys, yep its true we are getting a new puppy.  Not Joys yet, but our vet had a litter of puppies.  He raises Newfs too, that is why he is our vet.  Very convenient.
Anyways she is only 4.5 weeks old and the pic that my hubby posted wasn't her but her sister.  I was so engrossed in playing with the little fluffballs that I forgot to take pics till the end.  And of course that is the result of that.
The pup that we are getting has a white blaze on her chest.  She is full of the dickens too, real feisty.  She was tugging Brads pant legs and trying to bite me.  We loved her right away.  We need them a little feisty in the dog show ring, then they actually run around the ring instead of take a nap.
Joy has a tendancy to take a nap in between turns.  Food is the only answer to get her mobile.  Will post more pics soon.

it was vet day for the 2 youngest, so the camera, scale, and tape came out.
Amy is 32.5 inches and 116lbs.
Sara is 23 inches and 47 lbs.

We welcomed "Windseeker CSI at Prairietrail" late last night to our home. She is getting along great with all the other dogs. She only cried for about 5 minutes at bed time.
