Newfoundland Pictures / Newfs Gone Bad 2009 calendar
« on: November 23, 2008, 04:13:05 pm »
You must admit that after the first few seconds of terror and anger that follow after you've discovered the trouble your Newfs gotten into, it's quickly followed by giggles and 'Awwww's. They're just so cute, even after a trash bash or a poopy episode.

You HAVE to get this 2009 calendar... it's even better than those posed Newf pictorials.

Would gliding a dryer sheet on their coat work too?

That parade should be renamed to the "Parade of Newfs". I have never seen that many Newfs together, parading down the street.

What a huge relief!!!! A passing case of bloat is way better than nervous or orthopaedic problems.

We hope Kate continues to act like her normal self as the days pass.

What a greeting! Rosie's had a couple runny incidents when she obviously ate something she shouldn't have, but so far [knock on wood], no multiple cow pies. We've been meaning to get our carpets professionally steam cleaned, so maybe it wouldn't be too bad of an experience... that would finally push us to just get it done.

My first thought with the shaking hind legs is that it has something to do with her nervous system. Maybe she fell/slipped/did something to pinch one of her nerves that goes down her spine to her hind leg. If it doesn't improve by tomorrow morning, a visit to the vet would be best.

Rosie went through a soap kick for awhile. She ate a whole bar of Irish Spring soap once. We knew something was up when we gave her chin rubs and her chin started to develop suds. She had a couple days of soft stool, but not much harm other than that. I would call the vet just to make sure though, and give them the exact type of soap she ate. Some soaps might be harsher on their system than others.

That's a pretty timely comment... something you don't hear often in reference to a Newf.

I can't say we've been immediately impacted financially by the fall of the stock market (apart from retirement plans and such), but no matter how tough times might get, I don't think I could sacrifice my big paw. I would give up a car before I give up my Rosie. A house is optional too... she could live in an apartment.

Yes, perhaps it's all a misunderstandi ng. He looks perfectly innocent!!! NOT!

Seeing your two misfits makes me want another Newf!

How is it that you're able to bath your big paws in your tub? We have a regular tub and washed just Rosie's head in it once (after she rubbed her head in poop). And with just her head, she'd just about clogged our drain cover.

That is the cutest pup! I can't believe the fur on his head grows just like a lion's head. That is adorable.

Rosie gets a bath quarterly too. Since she's had such rough year with her back right leg (torn ACL and luxating patella ALL in a span of a year), we've timed her baths pre-surgery or when she's been well-recovered post-surgery.

Matured is such a kinder word than 'aged'. She's still a beauty!
