Getting ready for the new puppy, but I'm not sure how tall his crate should be. I plan on getting the divider like everyone suggests so he can grow into it, but I want a nice height that he can be comfy in when he's full-sized. Any suggestions?? Certain brands/models that are geared toward larger dogs??

Dave and I have a trip to Florida in November, and as soon as we get home, we'll be going to pick up the little guy. It's kinda fun to see Dave get excited about something (most guys his age don't tend to show that side).  ;D We've got a couple names picked out, but can't decide. Player, Apollo, Boone, Wilson, Bugsy, and a couple more I can't remember. Who knows!! HAHA!

Here are the latest pics of the Dobe puppies, born September 17. The four in the first pic are the males. The one in the last pic is the one that I believe Dave and I will be getting. We're very excited, and I'll make sure to post more pics as they grow!!!

I used to go tanning, and there was a tiny paw who had a little bed on the counter. Very cute. Also, the auto salvage yard has a large, friendly yellow lab mix. My boyfriend drives racecars, and several of the parts/body shops have big dogs too. Always fun to meet a pet when we're out and about!

Well, I've got a puppy update. They were at the vet this morning...tail s, dews, and weighed. 6 of the 7 pups weigh between 1# and 1#5oz. Little Herc was only 6oz. The vet was concerned, and so was the breeder. He seemed to be doing so well, but the little guy crossed the bridge this afternoon. Mama's pretty depressed, so no visitors til Saturday. The rest of the pups are doing well. Just makes my heart sink...

Thanks for all the replies, it's nice to feel like a part of the family. I'll be sure to give everyone updates when I can.

And oh yeah, we are going to be getting one of the big black boys. Only blacks left now, Herc was really one of a kind.

Well, the breeder e-mailed me these pics from the morning they were born. The black boys look just HUGE!! They nicknamed the little red one (also a boy) Hercules. He's doing well, even among the big ones!

I'm new to the website. Just found it and wanted to be a part of the family. Boyfriend and I are getting our first dobe (my first, his second). They were just born on September 17, and I will get to stop over and visit the little ones on the 20th. I'm bringing my digital camera, so there are pictures to come soon! ;D
