Anything Non-Dog Related / i know it's selfish BUT...
« on: May 07, 2007, 01:49:13 am »
i'm so happy!  tomorrow hubby and one of the boys (tristan) are flying to mississippi for a week!  it'll just be me and aiden the whole time.  hubby has to go to court as a witness in his dad's divorce case, because his soon to be ex is a pain, so i get a whole week of just one kid and no hubby!  this is the second time we've had to do this because the first time it got put off b/c of a claim by the soon to be ex (which bit her in the butt and now she has charges against her by the state) and it's so nice when it's just me and aiden b/c we both love to sleep in in the mornings, and stay up late at night watching TV.  not to mention 1/2 of the diapers, 1/2 of the baths, 1/2 of the getting kids dressed,  AND 1/2 OF THE COOKING!  yeah!!!  oh, and another great thing is all i have to do is make me and aiden happy and not hubby too ha ha.  selfish, i know, but i'm so excited!

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / lazy dog syndrome...??
« on: May 06, 2007, 03:34:20 am »
hubby and i were talking the other night, and he laughed b/c i complained that our dogs never do anything but decorate the floors / furniture.  he asked me what exactly i expected, and i admitted, i wanted them to play or do something...  anything!  does anyone else's dogs have lazy dog syndrome, and is there any hope??   ;)  even diesel, caine, and peanut have caught it (diesel and caine turn 1 this month and peanut is 6 months) and sleep ALL day and ALL night.  even when they go potty they potty and go back to sleep on the back porch while waiting to come inside!  their day consists of about 10 minutes of romping in the yard then they're done again, and i can't stop them from going back to sleep.  diesel even went so far as to doze off while eating his lunch and fell asleep standing with his head in the bowl.  oh, as a side note, the vet has given them all have a clean bill of health and said they are just lazy.

well, i jinxed myself.  on a recent post we were talking about how hubby and i take multiple precautions (3!) to control kid population at our house, since my doctor is 100% against tying my tubes or anything.  nice, huh?  it's always "what happens if something happens to one of your sons?" and i always say "that's why i have 2!"  well, now we have one last chance to have a girl!  we found out today that i am officially 3 1/2 months pregnant!  i don't show or test positive on either urine OR blood tests until this point, and my doctors / hubby NEVER believe me.  SO, long story short, we're expecting an unexpected!

five dogs and 3 kids ALL under the age of 5...  i must be nuts!

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / idiot day in my town
« on: April 30, 2007, 11:06:43 am »
today is apparently idiot day.  the transformer for greystone power went out, putting us out of power.  simultaneously, a contractor hit a water main (again) and left the area without water.  can we say idiots!

i managed to get diesel into the bath tub for a bath with little / no problems (a whole bunch of baby talk and literally one step at the time), i even got him to step in and out 100% by himself and i got to hose his face off!  for him this is a total miracle (any of you who know about diesel know how big that was ha ha)!  anywho, afterwards, we came back in the living room and he ran 90 to nothing for a few minutes before snuggling up to me on the couch, so i decided to play around and go "woof" and touch him.  yeah.  MISTAKE!  he decided that he then wanted to be a lap dog and jumped up and landed square on top on me!  what a goof!  he's still gaining weight (thank god) but still not looking normal YET, but he weighs close to 130 and still has about 10 or so lbs to gain.  talk about a complex thinking he's a lap dog!

recently married-- suddenly now he claims he's allergic to my cats so back out he goes.

free to good home. must not have large human eating snakes in house and also cannot enter him in xtreme fighting death matches or use him as bait.

thank you. serious inquiries only. Please hurry or your indifference might force me to return him to his parents.

talk better??  aiden is talking like a champ now, but sometimes blurs words, gets them mixed up, etc.  like peanut is "no nuts" or "numb nuts"...  nobody taught him that, he just started saying calling him that.  i tell him his name is peanut and he tells me "nu uhhhhh!" and continues to do as he was.  he's very hardheaded.  should i just keep on correcting him?

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / submissive peeing?!
« on: April 25, 2007, 10:06:00 am »
peanut (chihuahua puppy) has always been super duper submissive towards all people, and decently submissive to dogs.  lately, though, he's started peeing whenever it's time to go potty / outside.  it's really annoying b/c he never does it when it's time to go to bed, etc, it's JUST when it's time to go potty.  he also flips over on his back every time someone approaches him, but it seems to be getting more frequent now that he pees on himself.  it doesn't matter if it's been 5 minutes or 5 hours since he's been outside, he does it every time!  he just looks at you, flips over and covers himself from head to toe in pee.  we don't make a big deal out of going outside, we don't even have any word that we say every time.  he just knows.  any help would be appreciated, i'd really like this to stop!
