Good Afternoon fellow BPO members, I spoke with a rep. from TNAMR and they received a call at a high kill shelter of an owner surrender male and female malamutes at 8am about 2 weeks ago, they quickly gathered to pick up the dogs and when arrived found out the female was not only pregnant but delivering puppies. The mom and dad are in the process of being adopted, ofcourse dad first as mom needs to be with the puppies. In order to foot the expense of the puppies the rescue is selling Fleece tug ropes, blankets, and other items. I have ordered some for Adak, and all have been tested by malamutes and are very chew friendly. The same ropes are sold at local pet stores for $12 and they are selling for $5/each. Please see the following link for information on the ropes and items as well as the puppies. If anyone has questions, please let me know.

BPO I need your help, we were going to my mom's today and saw 2 possible black lab puppies on the road. I could not leave them there as it was noticeable they were malnurished. They were both under fed and one was beaten, they are both boys, I can not keep due to same sex aggression with malamutes and worry about what could / cold not happen. I will post pics tomorrow with weight and ages. They are sweet, one is very much timid, he is all black the other has white on his chest and is very outgoing and knows sit.

Hi guys, sorry it has been a while since I posted. I have been trying to catch up. We should have another BPO Baby coming October 15, 2008. I am 7 weeks pregnant.

Question for all other Big Paw mommies, did you get stupid questions when you were pregnant about your Big Paw? I am so tired of the questions.

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Can anyone help?
« on: October 02, 2007, 02:52:01 pm »
BPO-I am reposting as i received this message today

Contact Cathy below if you are interested in a free puppy...

Can anyone help?

Friend of a friend rescued 6 black lab (mix) puppies out of the middle of the road on Saturday. PLEASE help find them homes - otherwise, it's Animal Control - which means they only have 5 days. We've bathed them, sprayed them for fleas and wormed them....but we can't keep them. They are currently in a kennel in my basement since I don't have a fence. I've lost count of the number of rescue groups that I've contacted, only to be turned down due to no room. Please check with every dog person you know to see if they need a puppy.

Alaskan Malamute Discussions / Update on Adak
« on: September 27, 2007, 06:06:17 pm »
Well as some of you know, I have/had 3 malamutes,  I only now own Adak, Tonka and Nala are now living fully with my ex, no sharing, and I will not see them. This was my decision as things were getting hard for all of the dogs. I had Nala for 2 days this week and she was so upset because she missed her sister, even at daycare she paced the gate and cried. I know this is the best decision for the dogs and Adak, well he could care less if he has a companion, he is a hog when it comes to attention anyway. I fully intend on, later down the road, getting a companion for him from the same breeder I got him from, I just can't beat the temperment he has, I love it! But this will be atleast a year or so. Just wanted to give a quick update and will add pictures later today.

Well, I just left the emergency vet w/out my baby! Taking some really
good advice I am drinking wine as that is what I had at my house.
Obviously he got into some food at daycare today and when I came home I
fed him as usual and his tummy immediately swelled and he started
screaming! Off to the vet we went, good news he is stable, but would
not throw up for them so I opted for overnight care. I will be up
cleaning all night. I already miss his sweet face!

« on: August 13, 2007, 02:11:52 am »
I have a friend that is moving back to NC from California at the end of the month. 2 problems...1-Heat 2-he is a big paw. He is lap mix, she is shooting for a red eye flight for him and I will pick him up at the airport, the only kicker is the heat we are experiencing, 24 hrs prior to the flight they may cancel. do you guys know of any airlines that can help, or is anyone travelling cross country in the next few weeks?
