I feel so sorry for you and Angus! I do know of a supplement that helps with joint problems and you can get it at a local petstore, it is Shark Cartilage, ask the vet first to find out which one would be best for him, my boyfriends parents have a beagle and she is older and developed joint issues and was having a lot of trouble walking then they tried that and she kept getting better and better. I can not believe that lady would call herself a breeder, anytime I call mine she calls me back within 24 hrs. No one like that should be able to breed dogs, do you know if she took the mother to the vet before she passed? If she did maybe you could try to inquire about why she died if you explained the situation to them. Hopefully you will gain some closure on this and Angus will be all better.
Hugs!

Well, I don't have a drooler, however, Tonka did decide to climb in my lap while I was eating cereal one morning and I had malamute tail and hair in my food. Needless to say that bowl of cereal went down the drain. She has now decided that since she is getting bigger she wants to be a lap dog, which is fine, but not while I am on the bed eating breakfast. She never crawled in our laps until she reached 20 lbs now it is a daily routine.

What about somewhere near Boone? I know of atleast one hotel that allows dogs and they have a grassy play area! Is that too far for everyone to go, or did you want to make it a one day trip? We went to Boone last Sunday when it snowed a little because since snow did not come to our dog we took the dog to the snow. She had a blast, I hope we have a winter this year! I was trying to think of places where we really don't have to have leashes on them so they can run free, but nothing really comes to mind except a couple of dog parks, but I am unsure of the pricing. Any month is good for us. Is there a city in the middle that has an area for the dogs to play?

We had the same problem at first. Then one day I met up with a friend that had a dog and Tonka just started walking right behind him. She is 14 wks now and loves to walk! I think that the other dog had something to do with it, then she realized it wasn't all that bad, also try letting your dog pull the leash as you walk beside it, then gradually pick it up and hold it very loosely. I swear they have a mind of their own and do what they want when they want!

Sorry for the late reply, yes I own a malamute, she is 14 weeks old.  Her name is Tonka. She is our only dog for now. I am sure she would love playing with the other dogs, she still gets a little intimidated with dogs that are larger than she is, poor thing, she was the runt so hopefully she will be getting bigger soon! I hope we can all get together soon. ;D

I would NEVER get a dog at a pet store especially after what happened to a friend of mine. She bought a dog from a pet store and 2 days later it died, it had blood sugar problems and it was only 8 wks old. She did not even get her money back nor did they offer to replace the dog. She did not tell me at first where she purchased the dog, then when I passed she finally told me, I explained the puppy mill issue to her and she could not believe what I was telling her, I then told her that if she had gone to a reputible breeder and anything like that happened that she would have been offered another puppy, now she has bought 2 dogs and the owner of the pet store did not even give her half a refund or anything!

Count us in, we are from Charlotte. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun. My email address is tjohnston_24@yahoo.com

We had that problem, try putting a towel or sheet over the top of the crate also wear a t-shirt then place it in there, also make it comfortable for them like a pillow in the bottom until they get bigger or toys, make it as confined as possible so they can only stand, turn around, and lie down, that helped with our puppy. Now she knows that she gets to lie in the bed with us then off to her den she will even look at it then we put her in the floor and she walks in it and goes right to sleep.

Hi, we are from NC and right now my malamute is absolutely hating this weather, we did not have any snow this year in the city I am from, so this past Sunday it snowed a little in the mountains so we drove to let her play. She absolutely loved it. Hope everyone is doing well! Right now Tonka is with daddy at obedience class, can't wait for her to get home.

I will definitely keep you and Sasha in my thoughts and prayers, I can not believe someone would be so inconsiderate to their animal as to give her the fertility shots then keep it up! What kind of monsters are out there? I would like to talk to the people and give them my 2 cents, they would not like me when I was done. Good thing that you have her now, I have never heard of anything like that but I am sure that they have medicine that could treat it or atleast help with it. Keep us posted! ::)
