You asked, so I'll answer.

It's smegma.  It keeps things clean and lubricated and is completely normal.  Wiki it if you feel the need to learn more.  ;D

That's great!  I LOVE her little monster doll. You should make a life size version of that.  Have you seen Scare Bears made by this fantastic artist? http://www.pinkertonfx.com/scarebears.htm

You should check out some pictures of my stuff in the link in my profile.  It seems right up your alley.

Keep at 'er!

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: GIANT MAL AND SIBO

I have a dog with bowel issues(and allergies) as well.  I feed Innova Evo Red meat formula.  He can't handle much of anything else.  Veggies and fruit and that's about it.  What a difference when I switched food.

I just read up on SIBO and it is recommended that a diet low in carbs and fat is best.  I would avoid grains and potatoes.  Innova Evo has a reduced fat formula which is low in carbs an of course fat.

Good luck.

I've been thinking of pup names all week and had Blaze on my list and I really think it would suit your reddish/orange dogue.

Meet & Greet BPOers / Re: Cross Country Road Trip!

Hey,  I'm in Vancouver!  There's a fantastic dog beach near the airport if you're interested in meeting up while you're here.  I have two leonbergers and depending when you get to Vancouver and how long you're staying I have a little leo pup arriving on the 7th of Sept.

Last year me, boyfriend and dog road tripped from Vancouver to London, Ont.  It was the most fantastic time I've ever had.  We took our time and only planned where we were going that morning.  We went through Alberta down to Montana then Wyoming, South Dakota, Minn., Wisconsin and Michigan.  We  tried to stick to two lane black top as much as we could and avoid the highways.  The states is the best for road trippin'.  There were lots of rest stops and parks even in the small towns we passed through.  We saw all the major tourists attractions... rushmore, Devil's tower etc etc.  We were even allowed to bring our leo to Reptile Gardens in So. Dakota, although it was VERY hard to get around with the constant questions.

You'll have a blast.

You can email me at kassi@shaw.ca if you'd like to get together.

Well, if you ask me, which you're not,  $15 is waaaaaay too cheap.  You're under selling yourself.  Really.  With the time it takes to sculpt, paint, and add in materials costs what are you making... $4 an hour?

I'm making a life size leonberger bust and sculpt mainly monsters/halloween masks so I know where you're coming from.  Most people don't understand or appreciate the amount of work that goes into something hand-made and unique.  Not pumped out by the thousands from a mold in China.

The dane you made has loads of character.  Looks awesome.  Good luck.  I hope you sell lots!  I'm sure I don't have to tell you dane lovers that you're getting a great deal!

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Re: Pooping in the house

Crating him may solve your pooping problem but it will not solve his anxiety issues if he has them.  I don't have experience with it myself so I'm not much help but I can guarantee you he's not soiling your carpet because he's mad at you.  There's got to be something else going on.  It make take some trial and error on your part to figure out how to fix the situation but there are some good ideas here.

Make sure he gets A LOT of exercise in the park or backyard before he's left alone for the day.  That's all my "expertise" can suggest!  Good luck!

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: Limping Butt and X rays ?'s

Yes, it's common to sedate for xrays.  I've spent over $1000 in xrays (which amounts to a heck of a lot of xrays) and Corben was never sedated for any of them.  I always requested it be a last resort if he was uncooperative.  My dog doesn't stress when at the vets and he knows his commands, like down and stay.  Depends on the personality of the dog.

Not knowing your situation completely I can only offer my experience.

My puppy has droopy lower lids so he is prone to getting dirt and other irritants in his eyes that also are not flushed out easily, naturally.  I use Visine and it's really helped.  He's grown into his droopiness a bit so I don't have to do it as often.  My vet recommended the eyedrops.

Natural Balance has also recalled some of their canned foods.

She seems like a typical goofy leo.  What a sweetheart.  I love her pink nose.  I don't know if my eyes are deceiving me but does she have rear dewclaws?

I'm interested in knowing what breeder you got her from?  You can send me a private message or just give me a first name as to not violate any BPO rules.

Yep, looks like a callus.

If your dogs prefer to lie on cool cement or tile floors, any hard surfaces, they can develop calluses.  If you have a carpeted house or your dogs are couch potatoes they won't get them.
