Treatment & Preventative Meds / List of Big Paw savy vets?
« on: March 06, 2007, 07:07:17 pm »
Hi,

I don't know if there is one already, but I was hoping that we could start a list of vets who have shown themselves to have a knowledge above and beyond the usual when dealing with Big Paw patients.  I think this could be a really valuable resource, as there is a huge difference between our guys and the 50-75 lb dogs that are usually lumped together in the term "large breeds".  A vet that understands this is a priceless commodity!

Is there a better way to start the day than to find this in your inbox?:

Oh wait...that would be having him here to wake me at the crack of dawn!  ;)

His name is Lucian - his call name has yet to be decided.

He makes me feel stupid when I look at his mushy face!

Collars, crates, & other cool things / X-pens? Which kind?
« on: February 20, 2007, 08:54:21 am »
Hi,
I've been looking at X-pens in preperation for the arrival of the little guy, and since I've never purchased one before (I never thought of it, but now I am wondering *why* I didn't).  I was wondering which kinds you all recommend and which kinds to avoid- obviously ease of transport is a perk, since when I travel I have all sorts of gear that needs to come with me besides the x-pen.

Rare Breed Mastiff Pictures / Photos of the pups
« on: February 19, 2007, 01:31:55 am »
I just opened my inbox to find a gaggle of new puppy photos- one of the 3 boys pictured is going to be coming to live with me.  I've got to get past my parinoia about GDV and realize that as the day he comes home gets closer, my mood will grow more sweet and less bittersweet...

Introduce Yourself to the Forum / Sort of New
« on: February 17, 2007, 11:21:46 pm »
Hi,
I joined this fourm a long time ago and never became active.  After loosing my beloved Dogue De Bordeaux, Eli, during surgery for GDV, I am back and looking for people to talk to who understand what I went through and what I will be going through (as far as my increased parinoia) with a new puppy.

I'm hoping for some great conversations and look forward to getting to know you all.
