Collars, crates, & other cool things / Re: indestructible toys?

I've had pretty good luck with the "Tuffies" brand of toys.

They have lots of different styles, and the chew rating seems to be pretty accurate (thus far!)

Oh my, Dan, I don't envy you trying to pick just one of those adorable babies! But I am jealous.

PS. and the name is....? Tease!

Once I decide which pup I'm taking home, I'll tell you his name  ;)  I promise you'll be the first to know (after the breeder!)

Collars, crates, & other cool things / X-pens? Which kind?
« on: February 20, 2007, 08:54:21 am »
Hi,
I've been looking at X-pens in preperation for the arrival of the little guy, and since I've never purchased one before (I never thought of it, but now I am wondering *why* I didn't).  I was wondering which kinds you all recommend and which kinds to avoid- obviously ease of transport is a perk, since when I travel I have all sorts of gear that needs to come with me besides the x-pen.

Thanks for all the responses!  I'm really not sure which I'm going to pick out of the 2 bigger boys.  Eli was a very dark guy, so I'm sort of partial to the coloring, however I am loving the lighter guys head (and fat butt!).  I should be getting photos on a regular basis, so I should have lots to update to give your your DDB fix.

We're throwing names around now, though who knows if any of them will stick - Moshe (Mo-Sha)or Rugga (means wrinkle)were on the table today. I'm sure in a few hours we'll have come up with 10 more!

I just opened my inbox to find a gaggle of new puppy photos- one of the 3 boys pictured is going to be coming to live with me.  I've got to get past my parinoia about GDV and realize that as the day he comes home gets closer, my mood will grow more sweet and less bittersweet...

Tina,
Thanks for responding.  I've been doing as much research as I can about Prophylactic Gastropexy as well as further diet options.  I'm a vet tech and took all the steps that I thought would keep him safe, but there is always that chance....
I'm reading all the diet threads currently and trying to keep myself occupied with good memories and happy puppy thoughts.

Hi,
I joined this fourm a long time ago and never became active.  After loosing my beloved Dogue De Bordeaux, Eli, during surgery for GDV, I am back and looking for people to talk to who understand what I went through and what I will be going through (as far as my increased parinoia) with a new puppy.

I'm hoping for some great conversations and look forward to getting to know you all.
