General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: Lincoln is backwards

Everyone is giving you great suggestions, so I just have a couple of ideas.  In addition to taking him outside every 15-30 minutes all day and immediately after he wakes, eats or drinks, we found it helped to carry them outside versus letting them walk.  We did that with our's when they were potty training and it helped them get the idea even faster, I think.  It also helps to avoid those accidents on the way to the door, too.   ;)  Hang in there, he'll get it all figured out soon.   :)

Whew, I am sooo glad that everyone is ok.  This makes my palms sweat, b/c our oldest son is 16 now and we're holding off a little longer for him to drive, but it'll still be before I'm ready for him to drive, I know.   :-\  Hubby & I both had more than our share of fender benders at that age, so it's something that we think about a lot.  So thank Heavens everyone's ok and it's "just" metal that's damaged, while another life lesson was learned.  I'm sending you a big supportive hug from another mom of teens (I have 2 right now).  Hang in there!   :-*

I love the contest idea, that sounds wonderful.  Also, if you don't like any of the names submitted, you could always just add a card or two with your own name choices in the box...just in case.   ;)  :-X   I know, it's wicked of me, but having asked my kids to help name our pets in the past, we've gotten some ummmm "interesting" ideas.  In fact, we have a 9 year old, huge 15 pound male cat still named "Gray Baby".   ;)  :D  ::)  It's always good for a smile when we go to the vet with our behemouth cat with a kitten name.   ;D   So anyway, I really love the idea of getting the kids involved, but that would give you a fall-back plan, too.  Please give that sweet baby lots & lots of kisses for me.   :-*

Welcome!!!  I'm glad that you found BPO, you'll find lots of nice people here.  So, you have two, count 'em, two new little furry babies??  Sigh, I'm sooo jealous!  ;D  :-*   I'm Marie and as you can tell from my siggy, we've been a Pyr family for a long time now & I have to warn you that Pyrs are wonderfully addicting!   ;)  :D  :-*  They are amazing, sweet, smart and funny pups with a mind of their own, but that's just another one of the many things that I love about them.  Are these your first Pyrs?  If so, there are lots of people here that will be happy to help if you have any questions.  Oh & yes, we'd loooove to see pics of your puppies!!   ;D

Ohhhhhhhhh, he's absolutely & completely gorgeous!!!  I logged on tonight hoping that you'd have found a second to post pics so thank you!  I can see why you say that he's even more than you hoped.  I'm sure that Rysa & Emma will figure out how to play with him shortly and that Falkor will baby him in just the sweetest way.  I have a hunch that that little baby may just spend tonight all snuggled up with you though, am I right?  Halley couldn't handle the crate for the first few weeks after flying to us, so she was a snuggle puppy for awhile, too.   ;)  Between being away from mom & litter mates and spending all that time in a crate on the plane, they just don't have a warm feeling about their crates for awhile, I found.  Please give him that kiss on his pretty little head for me now, ok?   ;D  :-*  CONGRATULATION S!   ;D  ;D  ;D

Ha, ha!!  They are all soooo cute, but the 5th & 6th pics really cracked me up.  So the only question is....how long did you take pics of them before you caved and went out to play with them??  Personally, I don't think that I could resist those cute faces.  LOL!   ;D  :-*  ;)

Tricia, I'm so excited for you, too!!  I can only suggest that you keep busy with some engrossing movies or something tonight to try & make the time pass more quickly.  I'll never forget how long the wait was while I waited for my pups to each come home.  Cara & Halley flew to us too and those days seemed endless, but the wait was so incredibly worth it.  Your new puppy is just adorable.  In fact, he's so darned cute that you had me on the net the other night looking at Bouvier web sites.  :D   Down Marie, down!   :D  ;D  :D  I'm having a hard time staying off of Petfinders too, 'cause I'd love to add a young dog or puppy to my sadly aging little pack (Daisy will be 10 in March & Sam's probably around 7 or 8 now).  I keep repeating to myself (over & over), "now is not the time".   ;)  ::)  :)  Let's just see how long my self control holds up with everyone's puppy pics, shall we?  When he arrives, please give that sweet little baby a big snuggle for me, too!   :-*

Silly Kira!   ;D  ;D  Daisy is my sneaky one.  She waits to see if someone leaves their plate unattended on the table when dinner is over.  Then you can just see her scope out the area to see if anyone is watching before she attempts to ohhh soooo casually drag her tongue across the plate getting all the yummy tidbits.   ;)  ::)  :P  Ewwwww....   She knows that she'll get scolded for it, but it's just impossible to resist that "opportunity", she says.  Tee hee!  It *is* fun, isn't it, to watch them try to sneak something by us.   :D  :-*

Ohhhhh, he's beautiful!!  I'm the proud mom of a 88-93# female Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab mix.  She's not overweight at all, she's just always been a big strong girl.  She's actually the same height as Sammy, our male Pyr.  :)  It always amazes me how much smaller most of the Goldens are that I see at dog shows.  ;)  I've seen a wide variety of sizes within the one breed.  You're boy is gorgeous.  Welcome!!

I'm not a big sports fan, and since I'm the only female in a house full of males, I'm really darned lucky that they aren't either.   ;)  :D   :P  I loved the margaritas thingy though!  Very funny!

Very pretty, Lin!!  I have made a few quilts (3 or 4, I think) but they were just simple square blocks, certainly nothing as intricate as what you've made.  Great job!   :)

Ha, ha, ha!  I definitely see "Awwwwww Mom!" in the second pic, too.  In any case though, he's adorable and he needs a big hug for being such a studly model.   :-*
