General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: Fun- Westminster Dog Show

In Ontario we're getting it on OLN (Outdoor Life Network?) and getting quite a bit of coverage. I do feel sorry for the poodles. I would be soooooo embarassed to parade around with a haircut like that. ::)
Yeah, I feel sorry for the poodles too. I do love poodle as breed, but NOT the strange clippings.

It's so scary.
And the breeder who lost 600 puppies in one night looks like a puppy mill owner to me. :o

Anything Non-Dog Related / Winter Driving(long)
« on: February 06, 2008, 08:00:39 pm »
According to the radio, up to now it has snowed more than last 2 winters added together. We have had a snow storm with 1 foot of snow.
It has been pretty rough for drivers.  I am not experienced driver myself, but I want to say some people need to use more common sense. I have seen quite number of cars loaded with thick layer of snow on top of their cars. Apperantly, it's pretty dangerous... One of such car had to stop, because the snow fell on the windsheild, completely blocking the view. Fortunately, it was on a side street. Some other drivers are just too impatient. Yesterday, the side road was pretty bad, all cars were driving very slowly, except for one car, who overtook the car ahead on a road with thick layer of snow... According to the Toronto police, most of the weather realted accident can be avoided if driving careful enough...

Today is eve of Chinese New Year, and a friend of my wife and her daughter went over to visit us. Butter behaved very nicely. He was not jumping when they came, just some tail and butt wagging... When we had dinner, Butter just look around 1 or 2 times, then settled near the table. The friend was very impressed by how nice Butter was.  :) All wanted to take pictures with Butter.  :D

I feed 5 cups of Canadie All Stages, 2.5 cups in the am, and 2.5 in the pm.  Naja is 9 months and at her last weigh in at the vet about a month ago she was 74 lbs.   :D

I free feed and have 9 Pyrs of various ages- youngest 11 months. I feed 80-100 pounds of Verus a week PLUS about 40 pounds of meat per week. Everybody is in GREAT shape.

Can I come live at your house??   :)  I just want to snuggle with all those Pyrs!! ::) :D

It seems a lot of people here are feeding Canidae and Innova to their pups... Butter eats quite a LOT for his age and weight @ 4cups a days + some treats.  :)

Dog park pictures again(last Saturday too). There were a LOT of GSDs this time, and one of them was quite dominate. He put his head on him or even mount him... Butter was just no match for these GSDs. Another time, he(the dominate one) and 2 other GSDs surrounded him... I was about to interfere, but Butter ran and hid under a table... The black pointer was quite a match of size and speed for Butter. They played for quite a while.

Butter is 13 month last Sunday, and I would like to share some pictures of him.
The 2 pictures below was taken during morning last Saturday. He met his buddy, another labradoodle within our neighborhood.
The picture was taken when I saw the other doodle. This is what usually do when he sees another dog coming. When other dog is close enough, he'd jump up and play...

Thanks everyone for your reply. :) Butter seems to eat quite a lot for his weight and age. I wonder where all the food goes. ;D

Yeah, Kana looks great!

For myself, I have been feeding Butter Canidae All Life Stages over 6 months and now at 13 months old, it's his 5th 40lbs bag. He is steadily doing better with it,especially after I increased his daily intake since Nov 2007.
See the following thread for the reason I increased his feeding.
http://www.bigpawsonly.com/index.php/topic,19760.0.html

I should say he is his best state since we got him... He is now shoulder height of around 27", and almost perfect weight of 67lbs. The previous 2 bags of 40lbs was used up after 44 and 45 days respectively. So that's around a little less than 1 lbs daily.
What about yours?

P.S. Below are 2 pictures taken last Sunday.

She's acting like her normal self this morning. Went potty, ate, and is on the couch as I write. Very strange...mayb e my house is haunted!  :o

I remember there was an episode of the Ghost Whisperer about a dog sensing the ghost of a dog...  :) Dog has better 6th sense than us...

Thanks Julie for your reply.  :)
There is no problem feeding 3 times, since my wife mostly works at home. It should be fine if we skip the middle meal occationally, right?
