General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: It's gotten worse...
« on: June 20, 2007, 09:12:41 pm »
I bet the little ankle bitter started the whole thing....I have 2 little dogs, and the have a nepolian complex. It also seemed like every time I took my well behaved danes for a walk when we lived in town, someones little dog(s) would run out nipping them on the legs. Once it was 4 tiny pomeranians attacking my Thorn. I told the people he is on a leash and if he chooses to bite them back it was their fault.
also 2 weeks ago our min -pin got out and ran 3 properties down, I don't know what happened, but the peoples GS ripped a hole in her leg, I didn't do anything of corse because she was out of our property. I just took her in and got her stitched up.
I would be asking some serious questions if they come back...heck, tell them you saw a yellow lab in the front yard today but it ran when you opened your door....There are to many inconsistencie s for them to keep this up

((((hugs)))) Sorry you are having to deal with this. Try and focus on the positive. It sounds like you have a great hubby and in a week you finally get to hold that baby that has been kicking you and punching you for 9 months. :) My mom has some mental issues to...it is not a fun thing to deal with, but I have learned to walk away and wait for her to come to me when she is "off". Take care dear.

I think eventually I will seek another Black female dane...I am not ready yet. Prior to loosing my girl (she also was the dominent queen of the house) I had been looking at harlequin haven rescue here in Ohio. There are 3 females on their site I was really interested in. Right now though...it just isn't the time for a new dog. I am waiting to see if I can volunteer there though. As for miss Morgayne. I am very happy we got her when we did. Even though I have decided the breeder is a lousy piece of crap.... She was meant to be here. The last 2 days she has become my "velcro" puppy. Everyone loves her (except Thorn. :)
She came to me with a bladder infection, double yeast infection, umbilical hernia, and they said she was wormed...NOT she deffinatly had roundworms. The only shocking thing was she didn't have fleas. With everything else I expected that. Anyway she is vaccinated, wormed, and done wit the bladder infection. I called the breeder and she said "oh I'm sorry.... the other dogs are fine, we never take our pups to the vet unless there is a problem and I didn't notice anything wrong with her.... And that was it.  Blah...evil lady.

I took a few pics. of morgayne today. She is almost 5 months now. Thorne my Fawn Dane is trying to put up with her...although since Sweet Tisha past on, I think he is taking his sadness out on the pup. Her is very gruff with her.

Poor kitty. A few years back I saw a tiny kitty walking scared in the middle of a 4 lane road. he was about 2 cars infront of me and I realized no one was behind me so I planned on stopping and scooping him up. The lady infront of me hit him and to make things worse he was flipping around and went under my car! I heard him bump under me!!! It still makes me sick, I cried the rest of the day.

it's just my personal opinion ok? but i think that she's still going to be pacing and waiting up there untill you come home, just like always.

I like to think the same thing...

Certain dogs are better equiped to handle weather conditions. A husky or Sammy generally likes the cold...I don't own a rott, But my danes would kill me in my sleep if I left them out in cold weather. DOgs are pack animals, they want to be with their pack(In most cases we are the pack). There are exceptions... we have 2 smaller dogs that refuse to house train. They have a shadded kennel the is about 40X40 with a dog house and trees for shade. During the summer they spend 90% of their time out there. They get daily attention and they have each other to keep company.  I don't agree with chaining any dog unless it is just a tie out for potty time. JMO
