General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: Turkish Big Paw?
« on: July 21, 2007, 04:27:38 am »
Thnx...I didnt see the link though. I searched through the night and although I found simular dogs the tails were wrong. You could tell the dogs are an old breed.

Did you see the dogs with metal spike collars?
working dogs for sure!

The other day while looking for fun things to chase in our back yard KD, Razz and I saw a fellow walking two very striking dogs on the other side of the canal.

They were white with black face/muzzles

I could shoot my self for not having my eyes on but anyway
I asked what breed and didnt get the name but I think I did hear him say they were Turkish dogs.

I told him to hook up here but dont really think he heard me

Any idea?

Well, Maple is made of sugar, so she melts if she gets rained on, or sprinklered on LOL

Heeehehehehee, this made me laugh...

We adopted a newfie mix several years ago, They estimated he was around 10. I certinally know what your feeling for him right now.

You guys are gonna have some wonderful times together!

Razz the fearless hates the noise that normally comes along with the rain here. We resuced him from the pound and he came this neurotic. He also has piccia which is a whole other story. But he is older and I dont worry too much, he can "hold it" during a storm  ;)

Our baby KD (picture above) has been pretty good about the rain and noise. Some times if it is just drizzling I will take out her fave toy to chase (empty gallon milk jug) and throw it for her. She hesitates but cant resist chasing it down, rain or not.

Keep telling your pup it is ok, be encouraging and keep a happy voice, try to make it fun. You may have to get wet now, but in the long run it will be worth it..

Cane Corso Discussions & Pictures / scarey...monsoon time...
« on: July 20, 2007, 03:27:37 am »
The weather has changed here
Time for the Monsoon
Lightning, thunder...oooh hhh scarey!
 :o
The lightning strikes, illuminates a rock, and KD is bound and determined it is the boogie man and it must be investigated immediately!

Good thing that I get insomnia when the weather changes like this. I go out with my flashlight and we chase off what ever monster it is, and hope she isnt bugging my neighbors too much with her puppiness.

KD will have a job here, so stayes out at night, sometimes alone but mostly with Razz. He is deathly afraid of loud noises so comes in during those times.
I dont want KD to share those fears with him so am working extra hard to keep her calm and have fun in the wind and rain.

Hope you all are enjoying the dog days of summer. 110 here in the shade!
