Sounds like Spazz is behaving just like a 6 month old puppy should! There are probably some good techniques you could use to teach him to sit by you and be less distracted, though. As far as people, though, they will always run screaming from your sweet puppy because they are clueless dorks. I may have posted this anecdote on here already, but here ya go: I recently was visited by a friend that I had'nt seen in years. She came to my house, and was greeted by Tani (aussie/boxer in my avatar) who came flying down the stairs to say hello. Tani doesn't even jump on people, but this girl, as soon as she saw my well behaved pup, screamed "OH MY GOD YOU HAVE A PIT BULL!!" and jumped back out my front door onto the porch! I put my dogs in my bedroom so she could come in, but I regretted it the whole time she was there, and I wish I hadn't done that. My dogs, my house. She should have just stayed on the porch and gotten over herself!

Specific Website Information / Who owns the BPO copyright?
« on: June 26, 2007, 08:32:30 am »
CafePress.com has a way to import your own design, logo , picture, saying, whatever, and have it offered for printing on pretty much anything from stickers and mouse pads to clothing and tote bags. I don't know a thing about how to do this, but I don't think there's much to it. You just submit your design and you get a little dribblet of profit if anyone buys something with your logo. I think it would be cool if there were BPO car stickers, in case we see each other driving around or somthing. OK, fine, I'm also an on-line shop-a-holic so it would give me something else to buy. ;D Whoever owns the copyright would need to want to check it out though. Just thought I'd mention it!

Oh no (snicker)! That poor (ha!) poor (ha!) man. Who would do such a terrible (neener neener) thing to him? Maybe it was the ghosts of his poor departed pets (karma)...

Am I bad? Sorry.
tee hee.

OK, I'm totally cracking up here, and I'm so sorry because I know it is soooo not funny, but I guess it was the way you told the story. Nothing is more rank than doggie diarrhea. My 10 year old greyhound, Niko, has had his share, but I guess fortunately for us he goes into our shower to have his blowout. Easier clean up, but not enough bleach in the world can erase the mental image of it when you're standing in there naked with shampoo on your head! Another potty anecdote - my hubby's ex-wife lives nearby and has two danes. She had just one until I rescued one and gave her to them as well. So her new dane had a bit of a nervous tummy in the back yard just as the resident dane was doing the old "welcome, newcomer, I must sniff your butt" routine. Alas, poor timing - you can figure out the rest. Resident dane got a very nasty suprise, follow by a thorough scrubbing!!! Luckily, it didn't damage the first impression and they are the best of friends now, a year later!!

Yeah, he's gonna come out and start poking his dad on the top of the head and say "how do you like it, huh? how's it feel?"
LOL!

Oh, and P.S. I've heard spicy food can help. But you have to eat it. Not, you know, anything like what I was saying before. I'm gonna shut up now.

Going along with the hijacking of my own thread - Kelly, there is actually medical evidence supporting the fact that, um, "being intimate", can start labor. There's a hormone in your hubby's, er, you know, that can start your cervix contracting. Plus, if you have a, uh, you know, an, uh, "big O", that can help. And yes, I know that that is the absolute last thing you feel like doing right now.
So what do ya think, ya'll - TMI?????
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Games & Jokes / Re: If I Didn't Have Dogs...
« on: June 25, 2007, 01:53:45 am »
Kelly, once your little baby joins you, all that stuff will still be true, dogs or no - with some modifications, of course!  ;D
I had my 13 week old puppy in the stroller with my 17 month old son today and someone said, "Aw, they're so cute - don't you wish they could just stay that way?". I'm think "WHAT? They both pee on my floor, or me. They fight over toys, they take my shoes and drag them everywhere, they chase the cat, they eat each other's food - ahhh!" Small kids and puppies - cut from the same cloth, I think.  ;)

Mixed Breed Discussion / Koji's first vet visit - umbilical hernia
« on: June 25, 2007, 01:27:39 am »
Koji went today for his second set of shots. He was perfectly healthy (yeah!  ;D ) but apparently he'll need to have his herniated belly button thingy closed up. I guess this is not too uncommon and is a pretty simple surgery, but I haven't run into it before. Have you guys?

Right on! What movie is that? Here I am thinking there's some new wildcat hybrid terrorizing neighborhoods and eating pets. Luckily, this is a relatively anonymous forum so I can freely admit this knowing I won't run into any of you at the grocery store and feel like a total moron!  ;D

Hopefully I'm not offending anyone here, but I really don't understand what the point is of having a dog of you're going to make the poor thing live outside. It's not for protection, all tied up like that. If I had a dog for protection, I'd want him or her in my house. Even if I had a vicious outside protection dog, I wouldn't use a tie down - what kind of protection do you get from that? That guy should be ashamed of himself. If he went out there with a knife, he should have cut his poor dog loose and brought her inside and helped her. What a loser. He should be tied outside for a night or two and see what it feels like.

Ok, sorry for the rant. Had to get it out.  ;)
