How old is Baloo? I agree supervised visits is the way to go. I doubt Baloo would hurt the litte dog, but you can never be sure until they are really aquainted with each other.

My male Noah would do that to me and my kids. The girls never even look at us if we're upset. I'm hoping Tripper will want to hug uis when we get upset. I miss the big dog hugs.

I'm not wondering if he isn't mixed Leonberger. Has the same coloring. Try and find a pic of one and maybe you'll se the resemblance.

The pic in my Avatar is the newest edition to the family. In the pic he's 7 or 8 weeks old. At 14 weeks old he still has his happy bubbly personality. I just love him to death. I will post some pictures of him at some point.

Yes they are fantastic kids. I wouldn't be able to do the dog shows and do obedience training with the dogs if it wasn't for them, so I guess I should say thank God I've got them...lol

Hello,

I'm not a vet, but that sounds pretty normal to me. My pyr is 3 months old and his joints are like that as well. Try and find a picture of a large breed 3 month old front view and you'll see what I mean. I've included a pic of my friends 2 3 month olds. Is this what it looks like?

Well how old is he now? Have you tried crate training? Works like a charm. Also you should never scold him by rubbing his nose in it. The only thing you're teaching him is that what he is doing is bad. Try catching him as soon as he wakes up. Bring him right out and if he goes make a big party out of it. If you catch him in the act indoors, simply pick him up (if you still can)bring him out and praise him. I had 2 pyrs that took forever and ever. I learnt the really hard way. My little guy is almost there and he even comes to get me now when he wants to go out to the pen. Give it a try. Hope this helps.

Great Pyrenees Pictures / Re: My adopted "PYR" ?
« on: June 26, 2007, 01:23:36 am »
He sure is a pyr. I'm surprised the shelter didn't tell you this. He does not look mixed with anything at all. Have you had him vet checked? The vet will be able confirm his breed. But I can guarentee he is pure pyr. Enjoy the gentle giant.

I'm new to this board and think it's great that I have somewhere to go and hear about puppies and dogs. None of my friends have the same passion as I do except the people I trial and show with. I'm a little lost trying to get around and post and see what is going on. Can someone out there give me a hand?  :)

Great Pyrenees Discussions / Re: I'm Not THAT Dirty!!!!!
« on: June 26, 2007, 12:24:26 am »
He is too sweet....but you would be surprised what a comb and slicker brush can do for a pyr coat. I have 3 pyrs from 5 to 14 weeks and they all love to dig big holes in the yard and lie in them. It's very hard trynig to keep them white just before going into the show ring. But I truly believe that getting very dirty is in the breed just to frustrate the moms and dads. LOL

Food Discussion & Information / Hello, I'm new to this
« on: June 22, 2007, 11:05:21 am »
Hello, let me introduce myself......I'm the owner of 3 Great Pyrenees and very proud of it. I'm not sure how to get around this site but what I have read so far is great. I love it that there are other people out there that have the same interests and love for the giant breed. MY dogs are Annie (5 yrs old) Merri ( 2 years old) and Tripper (14 weeks old). I have questions about puppy food (bad poop) and (weight) The pup doesn't weigh enough. And ??? I'm not sure how to go about posting and where to ask? Can anyone out there give me a hand?

Hello, I too am new to this site. But i will tell you your Pyr is mixed with another sort of dog. He is really cute though. Very sweet face. Have you posted pictures of his litter mates? did you get him from a breeder? I only ask because if you got him from a breeder the breeder would have known he was mixed with another breed. No big deal though if you love him and how can't you. Look at that face.  :o
