Games & Jokes / Re: If I Didn't Have Dogs...
« on: July 06, 2007, 03:39:32 am »
What is funny is that so much of that stuff I was so guilty of before I had kids.. so like spelling out those words...soon it will be candy/cookies/park/grandmas/chuck e cheese you will be spelling out and you will have that hard floor instead of carpeting to avoid the kool-aid spills and occasional nights where throwing up all over the floor is unavoidable. Parenthood certainly changes things that sfor sure.

I am so sorry for your loss, I had to put my big guy down about a year and a half ago - and I still miss him everyday.. the only diffrence now is that I know I did the right thing by having him put down and I was with him till the end.He had his big head in my lap and I cried on his head and told him I was sorry and that I loved him over and over....I stayed like that for awhile... and sometimes I still completely break down because of it. I know how empty your feeling and I am so so sorry, my thoughts are with you.

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Re: The Poop Rules
« on: June 28, 2007, 09:23:41 pm »
My dogs have set there own area's, for example...my lab well she likes to go in the back corner of the yard around the garage where no one can see her.My dane now he's an entirely diffrent story.. typically he will go right in front of our backgates making it near impossible to open the gates without cleaning up a mountain of poo first but then sometimes he will squat 5 or 6 times throughout the yard just because! Needless to say because I do not make them go in there dog run( I figure its more for hanging out in, not pooping in) I scoop poop 2 times a day to keep up on it. FUN!!

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / I have been dooped again
« on: June 27, 2007, 03:00:53 am »
So this morning I had no craziness like yesterday instead my dogs went on with there normal routine ( Thank God! ) But then I hear the dogs fighting(you know how that play fighting dogs do with each other sounds) so I wasn't real worried....WRO NG AGAIN..... Lucy comes bounding out from the side of the house full speed and Scooby comes hopping along covered in what appears to be blood, (panicking) so I of course freak out and wake my husband up and have him come outside with me because I know first hand how injured animals can sometimes be......only to find our neighbors had put there trash out a day early and my dogs was covered in ketchup!! Imagine if you will the sheer frustration that I have been dooped 2 days in a row by my doggies. Not to mention my hubby sees it's ketchup and immediately says "Their your dogs I'm goin back 2 bed" so I was late today because I had to completely groom my trash digging comrades before work... aaahhhhh..I really thought all of the craziness from yesterday would do me for the rest of the month and now here's more. Gotta love those doggies..

My lab had the exact same thing when she was little and to be honest she still does but we spent ALOT of money when she was a pup to make sure it was nothing bad and it wasn't just a little bump.Im the person who thinks if my dog throws up once its cause the have cancer.. so I have been overly concerned with everything.I feel confident he'll be just fine.

I had severe blood pressure issues with my son.My last visit before they induced me my blood pressure was 241/159.Needless to say I was taken to hospital immediately. No w with my daughter they actually induced me 5 weeks early with her because of all the complications I had had with my son.(And she was a really easy labor and delivery)She had to be in an incubator for 2 days cause she couldn't hold her body heat since she was so early, but she was really healthy.+

I Breast Fed both of my kids until they had teeth which for my son was all of 4 months my daughter was 9 months before the biting started.

We then swithed to a soy formula for both of them, which they loved and it was kinda nice to not have to take on all the feedings by myself.

I did still pump though until they both were a year old so they were both still getting breast milk even when they were no longer breast feeding.

A friend of ours was in some trouble a few years ago and when the cops came they told him if his pitbull even looked at them funny they would shoot it.She was in her crate the entire time. And they kept saying they would not hesitate to kill her if she did anything to make them nervous. So yeah these cops were ready to kill his dog in front of his kids for No reason whatsoever.Tot al abuse of power!!

Food Discussion & Information / Dog Food....again!

Just curious but for those of you who have large breeds.. do you really feel like the diffrent dog foods labeled "large breed" compared to those labeled "giant breed" are any diffrent? I know some of them have more nutrients in them, but does anyone have first hand experience with the "giant breed" and if so can you tell an overall diffrence? thanks

Oh yeah he is gorgeous.. coat is shiny eyes are sparkly he is as playful as can be eats like a son of a gun. He is acctive and over all perfectly normal.. but he does eat trash sometimes  ( he removes the lids and helps himself ) and i wondered if that had anything to do with it.) I just want him to look normal. Thanks for all the advice.

I am also laughing now but this morning I am tellin ya I was ready to cry. Where we live people by "pitbulls and drag em around to make everyone scared. We have dog's cause we love them and they are such a huge part of our lives..I just worry that they will get out on day and get attacked by a mean dog or by a mean person for that matter.

But yes... It was pretty funny now that I am at work and not freaking out

I used to pray for the patience to deal with my husband and children... now I pray for the strength to restrain my dogs and the inner peace to not go postal everytime they destroy something - funny how things change huh? :D
