He is very beautiful and sweet and gets along with all other animals. Unfortunately, he is going blind in both eyes. He can still see shadows. The shelter will be closing and the branch manager has left, so the animals are being put down much faster than usual. This guy doesn't have much hope unless a rescue can take him and try to find him a good home. He is up to date on shots and house trained. This woman is willing to help with transport, transport fees, neuter fees, and she will pay the adoption fee.

Rella has made great progress in her "fear" and was steadly working toward going back to her easy going self. Now we have THUNDER! She is terrified, barking, growling, drooling and pacing the house. The other dogs look at her as if she has gone mad, lol. So far I have just used the "calming voice" telling her to hush (like that worked

) and ignoring the behaviour....s ince this is not working I thought I'd ask what anybody else has done for the dog who just hates the boomer season. I do leave her crate open so she can get into it but so far she has acted like she wants no part of it while the storm is ongoing and I would hate to crate her and have her spazz out and hurt herself.

She is now 15 months old. Ideas?

Rella, my 1 yo Saint, has started some new behaviors that have me baffled. She has started crawling when she approaches another dog to play and come up under their chin. Her whole body just quivers and her tail goes a mile a minute, but she crawls! This is both on and off leash.

Also, yesterday was so nice I decided to walk the dogs in the woods instead of the park and I stepped on a small twig, which snapped, and she dropped right to the ground like somebody shot her!

Anybody have any ideas on why she is suddenly acting like she is scared of everything and anything?

My mother recently passed away and left me with our family dog, she's a beautiful beagle, sweet charming, well mannered. She loves to play fetch, chew on her bullystick, sleep in bed beside you. She just turned ten, so she's an older dog and doesn't seem as active and bouncy as she once was. I thought it would be great, my boyfriend said that he was okay with dogs and he really seemed to be fine for a while! My boyfriend moved in with me and after a few weeks started to make complaints about the dog. He says he's allergic and he is really stuffed up, and doesn't like taking the dog on walks with me. He also hates that she sleeps in bed with us and claims she's dirty and unsanitary. This is a VERY unique situation! Please understand, he told me tonight that I had to get rid of the dog or he was going to leave me!

So...with a heavy heart I have to do what is best for all involved. It really hurts to have to do this, but I had to choose between my family dog and the boyfriend who stole my heart.

Purebred German boyfriend, can be very sweet and kind but is often mouthy if you don't treat him properly. He's almost entirely house trained, but he does miss the bowl occasionally at night, but I'm sure you can train it out of him. He recently saw the doctor in November and I believe he's UTD on all of his shots. He'd do best in a one boyfriend household, and other pets should be avoided as he seems cranky around them. He needs a special diet and medication as he's diabetic, but don't let that fool you! He'll sneak bits of your sugared food if you're not looking.

I'm afraid if I can't get him adopted into a good home by Saturday I have no other choice, I'll be taking him to Four Kegs, and leaving him. I can only hope that he'll find a forever home there. Previous boyfriend references are a plus! But please hurry, he's starting to grow aggressive since I put him on the couch and closed the bedroom door.

Posted for a friend, she is divorcing and must place her dogs. These dogs were working a 200 acre farm with all types of animals. She has males and females available, they are not fixed as she was a breeder and planned to keep them for her breeding program. They will make great livestock guardians or breeding stock. The $150 is WITHOUT AKC papers, if you want to breed the price is higher than the $150 but she can work something out with you. They need homes ASAP. She is located near Bowling Green, Missouri. Medical Conditions & Diseases / juvenile cellulitis

A friend who just adopted a little poodle pup asked for my help in finding out more about juvenile cellulitis. Her puppy was just diagnosed with this and is now on predisone.

Anybody have any personal experience? The big thing (to me anyway) is she had the puppy here and now I am concerned about my dogs. Googling it is gving conflicting info on if they can catch it or not and since this is not a emergency, I don't think the vet would appreciate an after hours call, lol.

I am so heartbroken. Yesterday afternoon my 2yo granddaughter was playing and tripped and fell, Dutchess, my 2yo pyr, was laying near where she landed and turned around and BIT her lil face. Blood and a badly swollen face:(

I understand Dutch did this because she was startled, but now I just do not trust her so she has to go. I have placed ads (to be honest, my first thoughts were to have her put down asap)and will specify no children to any new owners. I am also going to make them sign a release stating they know she has bitten a child and take full responsibility for anything that may happen once they take her.

This is just breaking my heart...I have had Dutch since the night before my granddaughter was born. She and her littermates were found in a barn....I bottlefed them for a few weeks until they got old enough to go to a new home. Dutch was the runt of the litter and I just fell in love with her.

I know I am not the only one who has had to make this choice before....am I doing the right thing by rehoming with full disclosure? Should I just put her down? I am just so confused and upset!! Keeping her is not an option as she would have to be crated way to many hours when the granddaughter is here (I babysit). I just feel crating that many hours will break her spirit and to me that is way worse than death.

Please somebody tell me I am moving in the right direction.

Old English Mastiff Discussions / Tons of Questions

I have been looking into adopting two one year old OEM pups. Both females, neither spayed. They have been raised in a family with 6 children from 2-12 years old. The parents are on the premises and two cats also live there.
Vetting is lacking due to funds and I have been told they need rabies and boosters.(no biggie in the grand scheme)

I am nervous for a couple of diffent reasons. The owner wants me to sign a statement that I will take on all vet bills (no biggie and most would assume you do this when you adopt). Also a spay contract (again no biggie as I do not want to breed).

The thing that has me most nervous is the vet bill statement as most anybody who has ever adopted any dog understands vet bills become a big part of life, so I have to wonder what it is I may not being told.

She has stated the pups are friendly at her house but also stated "they may not act this way at yours". She has asked me to seal a peice of clothing and send it to her so the pups can sleep with it and get used to my smell. Again, what am I missing?

I want to add she is giving these pups away for no charge. They are purebreds.

Not being totally stupid, I suspect there are some aggression issues. But, I have zero experience with this breed.

I have two young grandchildren who spend alot of time at my house and I do not want to endnger them in any way. Not to mention my own pups/cats.

So for those of you who have had dealings with this breed, are the things she has said to me normal for somebody rehoming a 1yo to say? I know vet bills/medical can be high for this breed, but would you make it a point to inform new owners they are now responsible for vet bills if the pups were heathy?

I would normally just ride to see the pups, but they are about an 8 hour trip away and I am trying to determine if it is even worth it to make the intial trip.

I do not expect any 1yo pup to be perfect, but many red flags are going up here and I am not sure if it is me, she is just covering her bases or a combo of both. So I thought I'd put it out here and see what you all think.
