Home Hardware in Ontario has a great product. Its called Ice Melter.  It does just as it says. it wourks for up to
-18. And it is safe for pets it does say on the container itself that it will not harm pets, trees, plants and grass.

Overview
Ice Melter and Traction Aid
- Home ice melter will not harm good quality, air-entrained concrete for cold weather climates
- Ice Melter is not recommended on the following surfaces; concrete that is less than 1 year old, masonry (stone or brick), precast concrete (steps or paving stones), stone or concrete surfaces that are chipped, cracked, spalled or have exposed aggregate
- For best results, apply ice melter using a push type or hand held spreader
- Ice melter is very effective, so a small amount will go a long way
- Spread evenly over snow or ice at a rate of 0.5 kg per 10 m sq. (1 lb per 100 ft sq.)
- Anytime the snowfall amounts to more than 2" plow or shovel first, then apply ice melter to melt the stubborn layer of ice or hard packed snow that remains
- Shovel off excess slush and water, and then reapply to heavy areas of ice
- Do not overspread
- Apply evenly and avoid piling
- Ice melter will not harm vegetation or pets when used as directed
- Color dyed for visibility when applying
- reduces risk of over application
- Do not pile melting snow and ice containing ice melter in one location where the accumulation will run off on grass or near trees

Hope you can find it!   ;)

Deep Breathing.... Deep Breathing!
You are completly overwhelmed!
My deepest sympathies to you and your family on the passing of your neighbour. That is very sad and extreamly unexpected. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
As for you daughter and Kira; hopefully quick recovery's to them both. It's scary when you dont know what to do or what's the cause but both have seen the doctor and vet so there is not much you can do; but do what you have already been doing....be a SUPER mom to both of them!
As for the baby Chi....patienc e on hubby's part is highly needed. It is already the most busiest time of year not to mention what you have on your plate; this topic should be disscussed when your plate is much less full!! Not to mention tons of training is needed on the whole family's part! She is a a baby. Training should be a joint effort and yes it gets frustrating but the more the family is invoilved the easier is will get!

Sending tons of hugs and kisses your way hopefully you will be able to sit and relax this Christmas Season!  :-*  :-*

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: Elevated Kidney levels
« on: November 27, 2008, 03:37:11 am »
Dont worry! Seriously Titan had elevated kidney levels for about 6 months. It was simple as us changing his food. He was suffering with some major allergies and with that came loose stool. So our Vet indicated that the kidney and liver levels can be high if his output is not good. We did blood work every 3 months to watch and after his allergy/food problem was on track and his stool was good his levels were back down to normal.
Also is Grace drinking a lot of water....Dr.B said to watch for that as well it "could" be kidney infection. Titan can drink bucketts in a day so I could not really tell. But the blood work came back fine...not to worry....
Big hugs and kisses  :-*  :-*

Well today is spend a fortune on dog food day. LOL

I think I'm going to try Orijen 6 fish first since I'm getting my free bag of Orijen Adult today. I'll mix the 2 50/50 and see what that does with the gas issue.

I know Bubba is picky on fish.. but I'm hoping he'll eat it since it's being mixed with the adult.

Crossing my fingers this works! :D If not then I guess we will try an alternate protein source that doesn't contain chicken/turkey.
Titan is EXTREAMLY picky and he normally does not like fish but the orijen he will eat. It does not smell REALLY fishy like some other foods we have tried. I am mixing 50/50 right now with Solid Gold. I would like him to be grain free by the new year! Good Luck. :)
