Yah...I think I told this story before but it bears repeating...
Kana is insanely afraid of the fireplace screen...won't come within 3 feet of it...just rattle the thing, he's outa here!!!!!!!
I guess I shouldn't be revealing this - all those who want to rob my house...bring a fireplace screen!

I think Kana may have had a premonition (har de har)...He asked to go out at about 2:45am (not usual) and so we let him after he didn't respond to a groggy "go to sleep" from hubby.
John and I did not feel a thing...We woke at about 5:50 and turned on the news and there it was...on the news.
Maybe Kana knew...

I got one for Kita (our old gal) b/c she had terrible skin issues and was sensitive to the cold concrete outside even in the summer when it was warm. She loved it.
Kana will not go near it. I think it must have moved or something when he went to get on it and now he's spooked. It's been in the attic but maybe we'll pull it out this year and see. He's just such a boy he would rather just lay or sit in the mud or grass!!!!

Looking for a little help/advice about Kana's marking obsession...
He tends to mark A LOT when we are on walks (literally, even when the tank is dry he is lifting his leg and scuffing after) and I took him to work the other day to visit and he did REALLY well with everyone (no jumping...MAJO R milestone) but he marked 2 times while we were in the building for about 15 minutes. I took him out due to embarrassment!!!!!!!!!
My question is...do we stop this behavior? HOW do we stop this behavior? He never does it at home, but if we want him to be more of a "social" dog and go with us places, how do get this to stop?

Thanks for the tip! I was just about to call the vet for the Frontline! I get nervous too with sight unseen stuff. First I try to see if the vet has heard of the site or will match the price...but thanks for the great info and recommendation!

I agree with Jack's mom about the ice cubes. I really think Kana believes that those are the best "treats" ever!! AND, no calories!
;)We have always counted on them since buying treats is so expensive. He will work just as hard for them as for a liver treat...

We went ahead and got Kana groomed today. Despite the 3-4 inches of snow we got today, we did it because he has been such a grungy, dirty, smelly teenage boy!!
