oooooooo I love this dog. painfully cute. Kind of doesnt look real. He looks like a giant stuffed animal that would be at the toy store. I dont know why noone around my area seems to have one of theses beauties. I will just enjoy looking at your blonde eared baby :-*.

oh boy puppies sound like alot of work! But fun squishy lovable work. I have never had a baby puppy. Brooklily was my youngest at 6 months. She came along with a boat load of issues at even that age.hrmph .Time, patience, and love seem to work wonders!  Think of how great that you can have your awesome baby from the beginning without other humans screwing him up ;D. I guess i am never leaving this site. There is such great help and advice ( and pictures) here. Or on the other hand , maybe I should wipe this out of my favs because this place , with puppies like Roscoe, makes me want a puppy.      Have     to      stop    myself     . lol

ooooo I guess alot of people are not exactly lovin the roll.  ;).But I have to say , if you can do it in a playful manner, your pup can learn to trust you and that you will never hurt him .Brooklily really didnt like to be on her back when i got her, so we made it fun. :) Brooklily doesnt get to pick what I do, or where I touch. She would have been rolling me over if I had let her have the choice in the beginning lol. Is it possible that we are talking about different things? Others seem to be referring to a sort of disiplinary tactic, like "you will roll over cause you were naughty"   That is a completly different issue. Im not sure now why you were using the roll. But if it is for trust , love and ,"I can do what i want ,im your mum, and IM in charge", then I have found it really helpful. To each thier own. Whatever keeps your pup healthy and happy. Good luck and keep us posted. I would say with classes and direction this will be a great puppy. He is soooooooooo cute, and I bet he is smart , because he is already figuring out ways to get what he wants. haha.

Hi. Im certainly not a professional and im sure the dog trainers and such will post later on with more prof. advice, but dont be too nervous yet. When I first brought Brooklily home noone had taught her how hard to bite (or not bite).Brooklily's beginning life was quite sucky. She was already six months or so and could really hurt. She would have your hand in her mouth all soft and then, crunch, a nice puncture wound  and a second later lots of blood.  I started making a sort of high pitched baby yelp on purpose everytime she bit too hard. And lo and behold she would stop. pull away. and look at me like " oooo sorry , i dint know that hurt ." She has completely stopped biting now. Welllllllll maybe sometimes your jacket while playing hard outside ;)  Brooklily also did the snarl and growl when i rolled her over during play, so i just did it all the time and now,she loves to wiggle and make noises but she is just a vocal growler and when wrestling is over and all is calm, she  gladly rolls upside down for belly rubs from anyone willing to give them. She has learned when to play gentle with my grandmother and when to kick it up a bit with my big guy friends. The fact your new pup is doing this also with food seem more serious. But im sure someone here can help with ideas for that.  I hope its just puppy stuff that can be dealt with. Good luck and much luv to your cute as anything new pup.  Brooklily's mum

Bulldog Discussion & Pictures / Re: I need your help...

Hi, im a proud bull dog mum!!! Dont know much about rotties. They are beautiful, but i have never lived with one. I have had two bulldogs, and many bully breed friends. HMmmmm... similarities ,  1. strong. Physically and emotionally  2.very cuddly 3. need alot of exersise (dont believe that couch potato stuff about eng. bulldogs. some can be super active) 4.intelligent ( so much so that they can pretend not to be, to get what they want :))5.funny   funny   funny dogs  6.uninformed people are often afraid of them so they can sometimes be unwelcome :(  7. resiliant!!!
There are a lot of bullies in need of good homes. I know you said you have a breeder, but maybe a quick peek at the homeless bullies , just a look ;D. Thought i would give it a shot.   Anyway good luck and much love to whatever dog you decide upon. Brooklily's mum

Hey, im fairly new as well. (a week or so) Im a bully breed lover too. :). I love all dogs , but the bully breeds steal my heart.Somethin g about thier look,no matter how big, there is something puppy like about them. Im always working hard to get people to not be biased against them. I have an english bully mixed with some other bully (maybe pit or american) and prior to her, had a mastiff american bulldog mix. I still am working my way around this site and figuring it out. To post pics you need to downsize to at the largest 400 * 400. Anything bigger will not be accepted.  Posts seem to disappear , well at least to me cause im not yet savvy. So if you click on someones name and go to the bottom of thier profile you can then click on "posts this person made"  ya, there has got to be an easier way and i just dont know it. Anyway, Welcome and I will be looking for some pics of your dogs soon.  Brooklily's mum

heehee, I love those Bull Terriers. They kill me. Something about those faces makes me laugh and laugh. I have met many that are quite serious, but i always think they are still amused by something they are not telling us. Wonderful beautiful dogs you have. :)

Remembering those no longer with us. / the dog that changed my life
« on: March 01, 2008, 03:54:05 pm »
Here are some pics of Savanna. She changed my whole life and turned me into "the crazy dog girl". I loved her more than I am able to express.I still love to talk about her and I think of her everyday. So I thought this would be a great place to vent. She passed away Dec 1st 2005. Her story is too long and too sad.But I will let you know that after being adopted by me she lived like a spoiled and happy queen for three years!!!! ;D Brooklily's mum

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / help with anger
« on: February 28, 2008, 07:26:55 pm »
hi everyone, I have been checking out the site now for a week or so and it seems like a great place to get some thoughts for Brooklily. first our problem, then some backround info if that will help.  Brooklily is furious and aggressive towards unknown dogs when she is on her leash. off leash playing in yards or parks she is happy and playful.  If she knows the dog we can walk with them no problem, but if we pass another dog she doesnt know , across the street, on a trail, even in a store she is like a different animal. There isnt even a warning , no stiffening or growling , just right to it. Teeth bared into attack mode. The other day a dog barked at us from the car and she lunged so hard she pulled me over. blood ripped pants , the whole deal. I hate to perpertrate the whole negative bully breed crap. This is a loving fun dog, just not on a leash with unknowns. Brooklily did have a rough beginning, she was kept in a cellar for first 6 months of her life,I dont know if this could be part of the problem. She gets ample exersize, love and is quite smart. She is some type of english bulldog mix.She is the love of my life and I want her and the dogs around her to be safe. thanks for your help and ideas    Brooklilys mum

All the dogs here are so fun to look at and ooo and ahhhh over.I have posted some pics of Brooklily as replies to other posts, but I consolidated them here in one post.Is there an area on this website where people can just put pics? When I see one pic of someones dog I wanna see more and I am not always sure where to look.Maybe I am going about it wrong. If there isnt one already, is there some way we could start a picture section?  Brooklily' mum
