General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Briscoe is losing his fur!!!
« on: December 05, 2009, 12:15:57 pm »
Briscoe has been trying to eat his tail...  (he had hot spots on his back and tail)and is losing fur on it.  I've kept it clean and have been putting antiseptic on it so he's not really biting it anymore.  My big concern is, when's his fur gonna start growing back????  I hate the way his tail looks right now.

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / My Funny Briscoe

So, Me and Briscoe have had an odd development...

I'll give ya'll a little bit of background before I go into the humorous part of my story:

Now, my boy has grown up alot.. he's 2.5 years old and weighs a lean 170 pounds and is around 36 inches tall (he won't quit licking me long enough for me to get an accurate measurement).  He's SO big, that instead of a dog bed, he has his own couch that I bought for $35.00...
And Briscoe is what I like to call my "big dorky dog"...  He's 170 pounds of pure spazz... He's well trained, but he has his goofy, happy moments... (have you ever seen a 170 pound St. chase his tail?  HILARIOUS!!!!)  But he's a great, big lover boy... Like most big dogs are.  He's never met a person or animal he didn't absolutely love (except the squirrels in my tree).

Until NOW...

I got divorced last month (Yay!!!) and my ex, Danny, and I decided that when we separated, we would separate our dogs.  Well, when we did this, we decided, for the sake of the dogs, to do a sort of "puppy visitation" to make the transition a little easier on them.

Everything was going ok, until a few months ago, Briscoe developed what I like to call a "healthy dislike" (no aggression) for my ex, much to my amusement and his chagrin.

Briscoe completely ignores him.  When Danny comes over to see him, Briscoe just lays down somewhere (usually by the air conditioner)and rolls his eyes and gives Danny a huge "Hmph" in dog speak.

It's good to know that even if MY taste in men has been questionable, my dog knows what's up...

i'm currently owned by 2 Saint Bernards (Rusty and Brisco) and My husbands old mutt, Drew.

Rusty's the adult male and Brisco is my pup...

We Like going to Petco or Petsmart and Having people fawn all over them (the dogs don't mind it too much either  ;D).

I wish I would've known about this place sooner...
