Thanks!

The reason I'm not feeling that it is TOO serious is the fact that she's acting (eating) so normal otherwise ... and she just had a full vet checkup on June 6th (before going to the kennel) and was in great health!

The kennel people were wonderful.  Before we chose them I talked to her on the phone several times, we emailed back and forth for weeks, my husband and I inspected the kennel and met everyone and the place was so clean and the animals there (borders and owner's dog) were so LOVED and HAPPY!

Plus when she went to get my dog bowls the day we picked them up, all three had to be emptied since they were full!  Great sign ...

I'm going to see what the vet says ... oh any suggestions on getting a urine sample ... this should be FUN!

Hiya!

We put our three dogs in a great kennel for a week while we went on vacation.  This was the first visit for two of our dogs and the second for Fable, who hadn't been kenneled in seven years ...

Fable (9 year old husky mix female) came home and has been drinking a ton of water and peeing often and a lot!  This is not 'normal' behavior for her and has been going on now for one week.

She is eating fine, acting normal, playing, etc ... and there is no blood in the urine, no unusual odor ... just frequency and duration along with the huge thirst.

She has an appt to see the vet tomorrow afternoon ... but I'm wondering what advice I might get here ... could it just be an odd readjustment to being back home?  Because she's showing NO OTHER SIGNS of any illness or issue.

Thanks for any thoughts ...

Lacey

Welcome!!!  Nothing beats a houseful of big dogs with slobby tongues, waggy tails and pathetic looks ... tee hee

Maybe they could come up with some space age glass that would repel nose prints ... my picture window and sliders to the back yard are covered ... I've pretty much given up hope of ever having clean glass again ...

We have a couple of Mastiff dogs that are in need of a forever home. We want them to go to a great home. I would be happy to talk with you regarding the dogs that need homes. Two of the four dogs we have are free which is why I am trying a post on this site.
These are great dogs. If you email me with your phone number I will get back in touch with you.
Thanks

Ok, let's try this again. I thought I found a great home for my 1.5 year old Harlequin, but things fell through. I've attached a pic when he was 6 months old...If interested, please email me.

Doreen, if you're interested, please call/email me.

Thanks
Steve

One of the photos ... I swear it looks as if the dogs taught the goat to lift his leg to pee!!!!  Love the photos ...

Ozzy is our brand new baby Aussie ... he's just about six months old and just now becoming 'poop' housebroken!  He used to 'sneak a poo' in the living room the second our back was turned, but has recently (two days) realized the amazing fuss and treats he's rewarded with for outdoor poo!!!

We need to keep him well 'chewied' with toys or there goes our dining room set!!!  Lots of play at night before bed to wear him down ... he'd be a lap dog if he were small enough, just ask him ...

I love him dearly, but he definitely needs 'jobs' ...

Anything Non-Dog Related / bunnies!!!
« on: July 07, 2008, 06:18:36 pm »
Okay, so not a BIG DOG post ... but my little dog (rat terrier) dug up a bunny nest yesterday ... I was able to catch her before she got to the bunnies ... OMG, they are adorable, there are five or six babies ... momma is standing by ... they all look healthy and I'm sure they'll make it in the wild, but I do 'peek' on them to make sure all is well ... I'm head over heels in love ... I think it's great that momma built the nest just out of the ratties area, but under lots of 'shepherd poo' as if that would keep them safe!!!  Smart momma!!

My two big dogs, could care less, have no clue the nest is right under their noses!!!

I saw him on Craig's list this morning, anyone need another baby? ...

Riley is a 2 1/2 year old great dane male who needs a new home. He needs room to run and is better off without younger children. He gets along great with other dogs and cats. (photo)

Dobur,

Thanks for the info, I actually never thought to do anything other than just love on her and try to calm her ... but it has NEVER worked!!!  I think I will try 'normalcy' and 'play time' ... but definitely no treats; Fable seems to lose all 'poop' control ... she really takes it hard ...

Usually when a storm hits at night, she hops up on our bed (which none of our other dogs were ever allowed to do, things change!!!), pants and shakes ... my husband and I joke that 'someone put a quarter in the vibrating bed' ...

Meanwhile the other dogs just walk around like 'no big deal' ...

But I will definitely try 'normalcy' and less coddeling!!!

These photo's are AWSOME!!!  I love the dobie who seems to think he is an 'afghan' hound, tee hee!!!

I think that it's a good idea to not reinforce this kind of behavior, because someone will visit and NOT appreciate it ... that being said, my dogs are all very spoiled, and I really wouldn't have it any other way ... And if visitors don't like it, they can go visit their 'dogless' friends instead!!!

Funny 'large dog' story ... our neighbors used to have a big (and I do mean BIG) black lab ... one day "Onnie" was chasing a ball into the kitchen, could not stop on the linoleum floor and but an enormous dent in the refrigerator door ... Onnie was fine, but the fridge became quite the conversation piece!!!

Another soothing balm to put on is good old fashioned "Udder Balm" ... works wonders on cows, pups, people, etc ... I don't know what's in it, but it's pure magic!!!
