Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: How is Ellie doing?

Sorry, sorry, sorry. I have been a little self absorbed since Ellie came home.
She is literally bouncing off the walls, she doesn't look like she was ever sick or lost any weight at all!!!!!!!!
She came in the house and went after the cat and cleared the couch in one single leap. Tink, not to be outdone by her 40 lbs new sister thougth she would try it. Though not as graceful, she did manage to get her big butt over it. Needless to say I completely lost control of my house Friday night and loved every minute of it.
Dr. Dave said to keep her inactive for 2 weeks (yeah right) and to slowly introduce her normal food portions. She is already up to 6 cups and still hungry! No nausea and her stools are firm. She was only sent home on anti-diarhea meds for one week, no antibiotics. He told me to keep her away from other dogs and stay home for 30 days to help avoid furhter contaimination and to pick up her stool and bleach the ares where we pick it up. What must the neighbors have thought with Tim and his pooper scooper, me with my chemical sprayer, gloves and dogs in tow!!!!!!! This ate up most of our Saturday (they had both run 2 acres). We had been a little behind on poop patrol and had to pick up and spray all piles because we weren't sure which were Tinks and which were Ellies.
We are taking every precaution we possibly can and I have no doubt Ellie will be fine.
I also wanted to share something about my vet. Ellie was hospitalized for 4 days on IV solutions.
Cerenia
Covenia
Potassium
Vitamin B
Lactated Ringer(
)
6 cans of prescription dog food to take home
5 days of anti-diarhea meds to take home
Took her stiches out from her spay
Guess how much?
Anybody?
$453.50! Including tax.
My vet is amazing! I asked him if this was correct and he said it was but I think he was lying. I was expecting a thousand dollar bill. I must do something special for them. They even came in overnight to see her and make sure she was OK. She really didn't even smell that bad when I picked her up. I think Lugene cleaned her up. I started to cry. They are absolutely amazing.
Ellie is taking to her new routine (yes I retook control of the house). A few accidents, but not many. She took to her crate well, sleeps through the night and snores like a pig!
She likes to eat toilet paper, rocks, mulch, sticks and DIG! She steals treats and toys right out of Tinks mouth, so I guess it is a good thing I didn't name her shy because she has turned into a pretty bold little girl.
Not to beat a dead horse but Tim and I really don't think "Ellie" fits and to be honest, it reminds me of the woman at the shelter who has been so horrible to me. Midnight is the deadline I told Tim. I will let you know tomorrow what we came up with.
Thanks for your patience and all your prayers and warm wishes. I am eternally greatful!!!!!!!! I promise to post updated picts tomorrow.
