Anything Non-Dog Related / Road Trip
« on: June 24, 2005, 01:01:06 am »
Hi everybody, it is now late evening Thursday, I think, sometimes I forget when I am retarded, ooops I mean retired.  Anyway just checked all of the earthquake data and we are in a nice little lul, our troops have not returned from the north and we do not know if they are going to brave it and go all the way to Canada.  I told Jamie to check out the Olympic Penn. in Washington becuase she wanted snow- capped mountains all the way to the sea so maybe she saw it.  I Hope, anyway.  All is well so far.

Rottweiler Pictures / Working Dog Working

I am having fun with some photos and learning more about computers every day.  This is Niki bringing me the grain bucket to feed the sheep.  I will try another bringing the beer shot.  The best one I have is her getting the mail as you can only see her body because her head is all the way in the box.  Will send that later - I hope.

Well, sorry about all the chatroom problems.  Let me know and I will chip in too.

Working on some photos and Niki told me she wanted cool shades like all the other dogs on the board, so here she is.

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Testing Intelligence
« on: June 01, 2005, 12:51:35 am »
I am in the mood to start a new thread and I recalled a trick someone taught me a long time ago.  They told me that you could tell how intelligent a dog was by placing a rubber band on a dog's head.  If the dog mmediately brushed it off, it was very intelligent.  If the dog stood there with the thing on its head and stared at you, then he or she was dumb.  Now I had two dogs at the time, one was smart and one was dumb (come on now you must admit we have all had one of those).  The trick worked perfectly.  My daughter's dog left it on her head and my daughter said (welll I TOLD her not to shake it off).  My dog immediately shook it off.  Please test this and let me know, maybe we can use the test for Urban Myths.

Doberman Pictures / This photo will move you

I have to share this photo and hope it loads ok.  There is a story with it.  A fireman was in a burning building and spotted a Great Dane who was pregnant.  He was a little afraid of her, but picked her up and took her to a grassy area outside.  He then returned to fighting the fire.  Later he came out exhausted and kneeled on the grass.  There was a reporter across the street and he watched as the big dog kept staring at the fireman.  Then suddenly she ran to him and gave him a big kiss as if to say "thank you for saving me and my babies".  Just then the reporter got this shot and it says a thousand words.  It made me cry. :o
