Kuvasz Pictures / Cali Playing with Tiger
« on: September 16, 2005, 09:54:47 am »
Here are some recent pic's of Cali playing with Tiger , Myrissa's kitten.  Her play requires constant supervision as she of course does not know the limits of play, and Tiger is a baby as well and keeps coming back for more.  All in all they do pretty well together.

Kuvasz Discussions / Hubby finally picked a name!
« on: September 11, 2005, 04:48:01 pm »
;D  Hubby finally picked a name for our newest member.  She will be called Cali.  Anglo Saxxon meaning "very pretty"  He also decided he did not like the registered name we had chosen, so he changed that as well!  MEN!!!!  LOL!!!!  She will be called "Lofranco's Indian Summer"  She is such a lovely girl, we are very pleased with her.  Potty training is going fabulous, rarely an accident, she weighs in at 25 pounds at 10 weeks old today.  We are very very happy with her!

Beauty is finally starting to fill out after nursing 13 pups, her coat is starting to grow in, and is soft as ever!  Silky!  I love it!  Today were were taking opictures in the kennel, I wanted all of the dogs together, but it is hard to catch htem all in the "right" moment.  Amazingly enough when I said "HELLO!!!!  I want to take some pictures, the one I ended up getting right away was the one with all of them in a line, waiting their turn it looked like!  The rest are just ones of the two enjoying the nice weather, and Aidan who FOREVER has a toy toy in his mouth!

Kuvasz Discussions / The Name Game
« on: September 05, 2005, 01:41:45 pm »
We are picking up our new girl tomorrow and need to pick a registered name for her, we will choose her call name when she is here and we find one that suits her.  We are all grumbling over the names the other throws in for suggestion so I am putting the top 5 up and would like everyone's help in choosing one.  The name has to begin with an "I" .  I liked Lofranco's Iustitia Omnibus.  Iustitia Omnibus means "Justice for all"  However the rest of the family feels that the word itself is just to strange sounding.  So that one is out  :(  please help us make a decision on this one! :)

"He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea. He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being; by the way he rests against my leg; by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.) When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful. He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant. His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me... whenever... wherever - in case I need him. And I expect I will - as I always have. He is just my dog." - Gene Hill

« on: August 13, 2005, 07:10:34 pm »
Well, we have a new baby kitten that showed up at our home.  Must only be 4 weeks old.  He fits int eh palm of my daughters hand.  He follows here around everywhere and sleeps on her neck.  Max, my son's dog has become a fierce protector of what my daughter calls "tiger"  I could not very well leave the baby outside defense;ess and hungry so we have brought him inside.  I am not into cats really, but my daughter is so there we have it.  Enjoy the pictures!  Shana

Hi Shana,

Could you post a save a Great Pyr on Big Paws? There's a Great Pyr in Georgia due to be euthanized on Friday. Go to www.petfinder. com/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=4873046&adTarget=&SessionID=42f1469f6e1c68d2-app4&display=&preview=1&row=0&tmpl=&stat=  I hope someone can save him. If we were moved, I'd go get him. We like guardian dogs and once we are settled after our move, I will get involved in rescue.

Thanks, I'll let you know once we get Sapphire tatooed.

Take care,
Deena

Anything Non-Dog Related / HELLO EVERYONE!
« on: July 30, 2005, 11:56:02 am »
:D  Hi!  It has been a while since I have had time to get online to chat, post, or update!  Summer in our family is quite the busy time!  Between work, the kids sports, summer activities, hun's sports, and placing puppies I have hardly had time to breathe!  We have placed all of our puppies in wonderful homes, had one mishap when a couple in Alaska did not disclose his wife's fear of "BIG" dogs and after much checking and conversation one of my girls went to them, 24 hours later the wife calls and tells me they thought by getting a puppy who would grow big she would "get over" her fear but it was not going to happen.  I was livid they did not tell me, and very worried about my girl.  Thankfully she was flown back to me immediately and now is making her home In North Carolina.  I will probably spend hours looking at all the posts to catch up on info!  We did decided not to take Misty, our new girl for breeding, and decided instead to take a pup out of the same stock.  I was very worried about bringing in a female who was grown with an very protective Alpha Female residing in my house, so puppy comes home next month.  Talk to everyone soon!  Its great to be back!  You will also notice a picture of an American Cocker with my boys, You may recall my middle son lost his black lab right before Christmas his hunting cokmpanion, bed snuggler, and best friend.  Having the puppies helped heal his heart but he was still very lonely and needed a good little boys dog to hang out with, another NUrse I work with had Max, a 3 1/2 year old cocker who did belong to her son but he left home and did not want Max anymore. Max was 1 when this happened, so he lived with my friend and her husband the last few years, and hubby did not want him, he stayed inside all day alone while they worked, and when my friend came home they played, she loved him very much.  I researched the breed, and they are good bird dogs, Max is very smart, he plays ball, fetches retrieves, plays frisbee, will actually roll his ball with his nose to your feet if you say " I can't reach it"  if you say "I still can't reach it"  he will put it right in your lap.  My son fell in love with the dog when we took him for the day as a trial.  They play for hours on end, sleep together, are almost inseaperable!  It has been wonderful for the dog and for my son!
