Kuvasz Discussions / Puppy advise please
« on: May 01, 2005, 09:20:33 am »
I have a question for any of you that breed, when it comes to feeding how often a day do you feed the pups, they are 3 weks old right now, currently twice a day, they are still nursing of course.  Do you keep water available at this point or do you supply that when you feed?  Beauty is asking to be out more and more and I want to be sure their bellies are full and they are well noursidhed.  As many opinions I can recieve on this would be excellent.  Thanks guys!

Puppys are 20 days old today, and eating solid "mash" twice daily, they are VERY dirty "big" babies!  Picture quality is not the best this time, my hubby was messing around with the camera and I did not realize he had some settings changed until I loaded them to the computer!   :-\  Enjoy!

Kuvasz Discussions / I am so proud of my Big boy!

Well today was graduation day from obedience class, unknown to all of us it was also a competition  :-\, none of us had a clue.  We thought they would only graduate on certain ammount of points accumulated.  Aidan and a black Newphie were tied for first until until.....He decided to  LICK HIS BALLS during the last excersise, his EASIEST ONE, sit stay for 1 minute with me across the room and distractions!  I guess his backside was to much to resist!  There were even squealing children out side!  I almost died, Steve laughed as did most of the men there!  Anyhow, a beautifully engraved plaque with second place was his to take home along with a BIG milk bone from the trainer.  I am so proud of my boy! ;D

:)  Hello!  My name is Shana and my family and myself share our lives with two wonderful Kuv's.  Aidan and Beauty.  We are also blessed to be enjoying their 14 babies right now!  Our "kuv kids" are wonderful comapnions, dedicated and loyal.  They enjoy spending most of their time with the children, taking walks, riding in the car, and lounging in the house.  Anytime with the family is a GOOD time for them.  Attached are some pictures.  I look forward to getting to know all of you!  ;D

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / How did you pick your vet?
« on: April 24, 2005, 12:59:55 am »
:)  How did everyone pick a vet for their kids?  In Northern Minnesota there are NO Kuv's yet, except the one's I have.  Scary prospect considering they have a few different health considerations .  I met my WONDERFUL vet Andy Pillar when iwas dissatisfied with a vet I took Beauty to.  Long story short 130.00 in 10 minutes, I was in my truck a bit shell shocked with no answers to a simple question.  (previous post on ears) When I was introduced to Andy, he answered my questions on the ears, then I had a question for him.  Are you famililar with the Kuvasz breed?  He answered "no"  My next question ( I really liked him, and so did Beauty which was TOTALLY out of character for her) was are you willing to learn?  He answered "yes"  I had brought a breed book on Kuvasz and asked him to read it.  2 months later he returned it and it was at that time he became my "kids" doctor.  He is wonderful, knowledgeable, and KNOWS the ins and outs of the breed I  LOVE!
