Wow! Those video clips made me so proud to be a Newfoundland owner. I can't believe how magical they are in the water. Rescuing people is really second nature to them huh? Thank you so much for that link.

That is awesome! I saw the story on Dateline or something a few months back. I wish I could buy a famous puppy from them but couldn't do the required travel every summer. Oh well, I am sure that wonderful people will buy those terrific dogs and make them happy in their new environment.

My dog limps sometimes after walking up/down alot of stairs but it goes away soon usually. How old is the dog? Who told you he had a tumor?

I have a Newf and have been told by everyone NOT to shave. The dogs I know that have been clipped and/or shaved have hair that grows back funny. It is not in the same consistency that it was originally and it is wavy. short and quick due to the heat.Where I live it is currently in the 100's and our dog just stays in the house with the AC and fan on. He goes out early (at sunrise)and late (after dark) for walks. Potty times throughout the day are as short as we can make them. Though it is hot, he sleeps alot and does just fine. Good luck in making your decision!
