General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / I need a newf.
« Last post by collealle on April 06, 2010, 12:51:55 am »
I just lost my dearest friend and companion Atticus (my newfie) to cancer.  I am grieving and feeling a need to hug a great big furry new friend.  I live in boise Idaho. I live alone my house has a fenced yard. I have several grown children in boise and seattle and several grandchildren and granddogs of various breeds. I am looking far and wide for an older pup young adult newfie. This dog doesn't have to be perfect but I do work so I will have to be away for several hours each night. (I could get someone to sit for awhile)  If anyone has any leads I would very much appreciate hearing from you Thanks.

Hello everyone :) longtime no see/read!

It's been about 18 months since I posted last, It became really painful for me after the rescue shut down and we lost the house/rescue kennels to have much to do with people and places I associated with rescues. So, sorry :( But we have been doing really well, I got married! and all the animals were welcomed into the family and we now live in a house twice the size of my old one. I am in the process of opening my own buisness, which will be a training facility, retail store, indoor dog park and rescue facility all in one. I'm also back in school and fostering again! Its amazing how much time you have on your hands when you are no longer taking care of a couple hundred rescues.

Well, like I said, we started fostering again and we recently took in a very heavily pregnant black lab from our notorious animal control. She had her x-ray today and I gotta admit I am a little confused at what I am seeing. The vet estimated 14 puppies at 52-55 days. So I have been staring at this picture for the last couple hours and trying to count little skulls and spines and pelvis bones, and thinking "Gee, I wish there was a place I could post this and see if I could get a bunch of opinions" and a light bulb went off HEY how long has it been since I visited BPO??

So here I am :)

Anyone want to take a gander at this x-ray and guess how many babies there are? (and how far along she is)

Pic is here:

Newfoundland Discussions / SoCal Newfs In Need Of A New Home?
« Last post by GeegLuvMyDogs on February 25, 2010, 05:28:41 pm »
Hey Everyone,

We are looking for a Newfoundland and we we live in SoCal (near the SouthBay of L.A.).  Does anyone know of a Newf who might be in need of a new home?  I have no problem contacting the Newf Club here in the area and I've heard good things about them, but I thought I'd put out feelers here first.

I've been here on BPO for awhile (not a frequent poster, but I am a frequent lurker) and we had to let our beloved Ebony last Oct.  Gut wrenching.  Both of our kids have special needs and she was AMAZING with both of them (even our Cairn terrier misses her!!).  Our daughter is on the autism spectrum and continues to struggle everyday w/out her precious Ebony by her side.  Any help or ideas (that don't cost $2000) would be GREATLY appreciated!

when arkyd was young he had a skin condition, cleared up fast with some VET shampoo, then 2 yrs later it returned, he bit at certain patches and lost hair, we took him in, after $200 of overpriced treatment it cleared up 100% and within the month his hair was all back, and killing the vacuum once again

he lost a patch like size of a golfball on his rump, not likr all of it tho

good luck to ya doggy tho
