Devil Dog
« on: May 18, 2006, 02:58:25 pm »
Joey has just turned 9 months old. And this morning, someone flipped the devil dog switch. He's never been a big chewer (of un-approved items) with the exception of a brief shoe fetish. Not sure that the fetish has passed just not leaving him anything to get it worked up!

Well, today he turned into a chewer and a counter surfer! ARGH! We had three seperate incidents in less than three hours.

OK...so, I have to go to the grocery store this morning, the boys are out of meaties. After yesterday's fiasco ( Ike was left home alone and had 3 sperate instances of really nasty, runny poo), I don't crate Joey... hoping that Ike won't stress out while Joey is with him.

I get home and as I'm getting out of the truck, I see them both in the front window looking all excited (I should have known something was up). I cautiously open the door... take a snif... farout! No poo!

HOWEVER... it looked like a fruit salad covered with large snowflakes had been dumped all over the living room! HEHEHE! Peckerhead (AKA Joey) had gotten into some stuff that was on the buffet in the entry hall. He demolished a small notebook, a couple of receipts and a few pieces of faux fruit! The grapes were the funniest... the individual grapes are pretty small, more wine then table grape size. He had plucked every single one of them off the stem! I don't think he actually ate any of them, though.

He looked SO proud of himself when I walked in. Ears all perky, tail just waggin away and a big ol grin on his face. "Look what I did, Mommy!"I said... Joey! What did you do?!?!? And, he started woo wooing at me... I said...UH UH! Don't you talk back to me! Only at that point did he look ashamed of himself. It was SO funny. Well, kinda...

My cousin and I were eating lunch in the backyard, I brought my plate in to find that peckerhead had gotten into MORE stuff. There were a few things on the dining table, waiting for me to put them away, he got em! Let's see that included a partial roll of toilet paper, a lighter a few other pieces of paper. Everything but the lighter was totalled. Living room got snowed again.

I picked it all up and went outside. 5 minutes later, Christa and I came back in, I had left my plate on the counter. Well, it had magically transported itself to the living room. So he shredded the paper plate, ate a few corn chips and, I am just SO thankful, that he did manage to open the little container of SALSA!!!

Then, while Christa and I were standing in the dining room, not 4 feet from him, Joey went in the kitchen and grabbed Christa's plate.

Joey is having a little time-out right now. And, I'm thinking of what kinda of booby-trap I can set for him in the kitchen. Something to turn off the counter-surfing switch!

ROFLMAO!!!!  Too funny!  I also have one of those kind of beasts.  Double sided tape works very well...so do noise maker cans.  Take an empty tin can and put kidney beans in it, seal it shut and leave on the counter where he'll knock it/them over.  Usually will scare the snot out of a dane.

Thanks for the laugh!  I am glad to know that my guy isn't the only moron out there that does stupid stuff like that.

I would think the coins would be much more noisy/deterring than beans in a can.  That would scare me!

Oh THAT is hysterical.... I love how Peckerhead (too funny)took your cousin's plate right in front of you.... that is good stuff! He sure was having a blast! Now if only he could clean up the mess when he is done... that would be perfect!  :)
