orphaned rescue white and black kitty at 6 weeks

They are all doing well. :) I had a "late bloomer" who just figured out how to eat on his own completely earlier this week...He was so small and didn't play with the other kittens...I finally quit syringing him and prayed for the best while supervising him closely and YEAH...he is eating now and gaining weight...I'll keep a close eye on him but today we are finally going to try all dry kibble and I have seen himĀ  crunching some but I will keep an eye to make sure he is ready for it...I've started calling him "Eddie" and he LOVES to be held and cuddled and has spent alot of the week sleeping and purring on my infected ear...He curls right up there like he knows it hurts and falls asleep...MUCH better than a heating pad. :)
The little white and black "soup can kitten :D" is fat and sassy and likes to play "king of the hill" on an old cat scratcher I brought up for them...His main opponent is the white with tiget stripes...We call them "Cat Kong" and "Catzilla" as they are vying for the top position on the cat scratcher...My kids named them "Stripey and "Chaos Jr." because he looks like my cat Mr. Chaos.
The little black kitten with white feet and chest we call "Simba" and she is certainly lion hearted. :D
Here is Tigey and Chaos Jr. in their king of the hill position...I'll update this thread later today with pics of Eddie and Simba when my camera batteries are charged back up.
b.t.w., Tigey's eyes look all messed up in this pic for some reason...They don't really... The yucky stuff on their faces is just dried moist food...kittens are messy eaters...lol :D

Hey Chelle!

Cute kitties! Something I noticed though..you mentioned their eyes look kinda weird...

I had the same thing happen with Eddie. Remember him? That pup I fostered for Cori? (angelsmama) He had a weird eye thing...it was like the inner eyelid was popping out down around the tear duct area. I found out it was from a super bad tape worm infestation. I guess it dehydrates them and their inner eyelid thingy pops out. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Have the kittens been wormed? If they have, they might need another go at it.

They've been worme twice already for everything but tapes...vet said they didn't need it because it comes from fleas and they didn't have any...I'll certainly keep an eye out and run that by the vet though...Pleas e see if you can find the pic so I can see though...Thank s :-*

Here ya go, Chelle! You can see it really well in this pic.

And, the other thing is, they can get tapes from even one flea that they ate before you even saw it. Or from their mama. So, I would go ahead and tape worm them.

I just looked at his eyes and they look normal...I think ti was just that pic but I am about to take Samson for a walk and the vet who has been seeing the kittens is only about a block and a half from here so I will stop and ask for some wormer for tapes...I may be using this vet on occasion with the dogs and seeing as Sam is my "iffy" child it will help to acclimate him to this particular office too. :)
Thanks again Nicole :-*
