The whole time she was complaining about Simon and Heidi drooling on her. Everytime they'd go near her she would freak out and start yelling "Get away!!! You'll drool on me!! You nasty dogs!" I know she's just a kid (13) and I know not everyone will like my dogs but I get offended when you act like that with my babies. She also tried to tell my husband that Simon tried biting her. He asked her if she had a chicken attached to her leg because that would be the only way he would try that. I was standing right there...he ran past her and hit her with his paw and his claws got her. We live way out in a rural community. So I know kids around here are always exposed to animals of ALL sizes. And she told me herself she had a German Shepard. But it just really ticked me off. Not to mention she was just plain rude about everything else. No Please or Thank you or Yes ma'am or No ma'am. Just demanding. Even my daughter was surprised at how rude she was. I just had to vent though. I don't know if any of you have had similar experiences but it just frustrated me. I told my daughter not to expect her to come back. I don't want to deal with that again. I could have taken her not liking the dogs, but with the total lack of respect towards everyone else on top of it...forget it.

The parents would have been getting a call and little "Susie's" butt would have been back on their doorstep. And she would not be welcome back. I was the "mean" Mom for my kid's friends too, until they reached teenager years, and they knew what to expect. Then I was cool, and this was the best place to hang out. I am more than willing to have as many kids here as want to come, and I will be pleasant and very accomodating. In return I and my possessions, which include the dogs, demand respect and manners in return. If that is too difficult, then go home, I don't need you here.

I am the "strict" mom to my daughter's friends too. And I have found that when they come over they are all respectful and pleasant. This visit was a first with this girl and I think it took me more by surprise than anything. But I did take her home early.

And Tina, thanks for the complement about my daughter. She's almost 13 and we're hitting a rough phase. But I know that ultimately she's a good girl. No matter how nuts she drives me. haha
