good news on bob :)
« on: February 24, 2007, 02:24:08 am »
He shed tonight, and he is not blind!  ;D He just had several several layers of eyecaps. The people who had him must not have known what they were doing.. We  made him a moist hide area and those eyecaps came right off with his shed. Oh he looks absolutely beautiful :) I'll try and get pics tomorrow before I feed him :) Just had to post about him, I was so happy to him all better :) ;D

Great news that he shed off the eyecaps.  We have a gaboon viper at work that came to us with 3 eyecaps that she had retained from her previous sheds.  It looked like she was blind but they shed off and she looks great now.

I had never seen that in a snake since my younger Ball , Hydra , has always  shed his eyecaps. I've had him since he was a baby so I started him early on the humidity spots when shedding time was here. Bob looks so much better since he lost those eyecaps. He had bad spots all over him where he had not had a proper shed in a while. A good shed with us and he is absolutely beautiful. You have to be looking for his scars on his neck to really notice them (rat attacked him when he was with his old owners). He has taken prekilled without a problem twice here  :) So he is going to do great with us.
