And the subject of the day is...poop!
« on: March 29, 2007, 04:09:35 am »
Hi, All!
Seem like several of us are having puppers with tummy/booty problems.  Annie is having diarrhea.  What do you all do for it?  I think she may be reacting to her food switch.  I thought I was going slowly with the change, but now this (it started yesterday).
She had her morning treats, but no reg. food yet today.  She's just been sleeping a lot.  Can you give a big dog Immodium?

Yes, you can give a dog immodium for quick relief.  You may want to hold off on the food for a bit.  The next time you do feed her you may just want to give her a bit of boiled chicke and rice, it's super gentle on the tummy.  Maybe something in the new food isn't agreeing with her.  You could also keep feeding her the boiled chicken/rice and gradually add the new food in with that to see if that helps the poos.  Good luck, hopefully no more messy poos for Annie!

OH you could also give her a bit of canned pure pumpkin in her next feeding that sometimes helps too.

Thanks, Andi!

:P  silly questions here:  white or brown rice? and do you cook it till it's mushy, or just like we would eat it?  Haven't had to do this before.  Thanks for all the help and info.
