Back to the Rat Race
« on: July 25, 2005, 09:52:30 am »
Hi All,
Just got into Vgas last night (I hate flying) from Santa Fe.  OMG - I loved it there.  So cool!!!  I am going back in a month or so to look at property in Santa Fe or Taos.....just beautiful.  Got home to discover my 18yr old son had a big party.  I think I use to get rid of the evidence before my mom came back into town.  But my son - either not too bright or just doesn't care.  Big trash bag full of beer cans, empty tequilla bottle in the kitchen trash, and enpty bottle of one of my favorite bottles of wine.  Lol - kids!!!!!  Tried to ask the furry children what went on but noone is talking.

Well, going to leave tomarrow to get my big paw.  Driving from Vegas to Seattle to pick her up....very excited.  She is so cute and only 10 wks old.
Will be up there a week with her.  Her name is Willow and she will be our new addition....So know I wnat to know if there are any suggestions about bringing her home and introducing her to my other furr babies..... ? none will be to happy....  I  just want it to be a really smooth tranisition with everyone feeling loved, wanted, and no jealousies....  Any help will be great!!!!!

When I get back I will be formulating the plan to rescue Thor from my ex-husband.  I am really worried about him.  My daughter says he is skinny and is tied on a chain with a choke collar......  Makes me very sad.
Everyone have a great day
Timmie

Congratulations on your new puppy!
;DI'm very excited for you !!
What a cool name you chose, too.

I have a suggestion for introducing her to your other fur children.
If possible introduce them at a neutral place, like the park.  your current fur children will not be so territoiral with her, if they are away form their own 'turf'  let the play and get to know each other a little, before taking them home.

When I got Kiya, on a wensday night, I brought Apache to the airport with me to pick her up, thinking that on the drive home they could sniff thru the crate at each other. Well it was late when we got home (had to go to work in the am). Apache paid no mind to the crate & Kiya was quiet, I kept her in the crate that night, took 1/2 a day that thursday & friday. When I came home that thursday afternoon, I kept Kiya in the crate on the deck & watched. The funnest thing was her breeder had given her a toy, a purple squeaky with long rope legs & arms. Well one of the legs were sticking out of the crate. Chazzy of course was ok with her, all Apache cared about was the toy, he'd walk around the crate & try to pull the toy thru. I wouldn't let him get her toy, poor girl had to have something of her own. The toy box is a whole other story. I kept leashes on & by the next day no leashes & they were running around playing, supervised of course. Actually that was a great weekend, taking 1/2 days & spending the time with my guys sitting under the tree watching them.
Have fun & good luck!!

One night I sat in the middle of the living room & kitchen. Apache in the lr & Kiya was in the kitchen. Kiya had found the toy box, she would pull something out (apache watching her every move) put it under the kitchen table, go back to the toy box & get something else & put it under the kitchen table. This went on for a while (Apache still watching every move). I think it was a bone, she decided this was a prize & put it in her crate instead of under the table. I got up or something & Apache went right to the crate & took the bone back. Every time Kiya would put something in her crate, Apache would take it out. I never laughed so much watching this go on & on. We do share now, but anything she has, he wants & vise versa.
