Where do I even start.
Well first of all, I guess the nice thing is that I'm loaded on Tylenol 3's right now, so I'm not feeling too much. This all started a few weeks back when I went in to my dentist. He thought I had some abnormal looking stuff on my tounge and wanted me to get it biopsied. So I book an appt. with my GP, she refers me to the cancer clinic. I go for a biopsy on my tounge and they stick a scope down my nose to look at my larynx. While scoping out my Larynx (which by the way is EXTREMELY uncomfortable for the nose) they find 2 little lumps. Those little lumps now need to be biopsied, which means I have to go for surgery. I wasn't expecting this surgery to happen for at least a few months, so I go and plan my birthday party. I got a call from the surgeons office about a week before my birthday saying they had a cancellation for May the 2nd (2 days after my birthday). So the B-day plans get cancelled, but I also need to come in for some pre-op blood work on my actual b-day. Great. So after I left work on my b-day, I was supposed to have lunch with my mom and sister, sister as always is horribly late, so I missed lunch to go sit in a cold hospital alone on my birthday, being poked at and prodded at, my viens exploding when stuck with needles (literally, my vien
squirted in a 6" radius getting me, the nurse, and the hospital bed sheets). Then I had to be hooked up to a ECG machine, THEN I had to get Chest X-Rays! All this basically took up the entire afternoon. I then had to go to school after eating the cold belgian waffle my mom grabbed me to go (which I ate alone btw). I proceeded to get right fsockopened after school with a few mates, and slept through poor Naja's 1st birthday all hung over! (I'm a bad, bad mommy). So I had surgery this past Friday, and haven't been able to speak since. I mean I can get the odd little squeeky word out, but not much else. Which I'm really not supposed to do anyways. The first night I was in so much pain I think I maxed out at like 4 T3's, and was too doped up to do much else other then drool on myself. Thank god my bf Mike was there otherwise I think I prob. would have swallowed my own tounge by accident. On top of this I also had to quit smoking JUST LIKE THAT! My last cigarette was Friday as I walked up to the hospital for my surgery at 11 am. If it weren't for the patch, I think I most likely would have gone completely insane by now. So Saturday wasn't so bad, I rested mostly. Mike and I rented a movie and hung out at his place while puppy sitting some friends of ours' Cocker Spanial Rosie. Well Rosie started barking wildly at around 2am, and I woke up yelling for her to be quiet (still doped up at this point), now that just f'ed my throat again, I'm coughing and wheezing now, in extreme amounts of pain. I wake up today, not feeling too terrible and it's a beautiful day out. So we pick up Jack (Mikes 5 year old son) from his parents house who were nice enough to watch him while Mike was busy making sure I didn't swallow my toungue, then we go back to my place to pick up Naja and go for a nice walk in the park by the river. Well Jack didn't sleep well last night so was kinda grumpy, and poor Naja hasn't been walked lately because of all this stuff that's been going on. So we've got a whiney 5 year old skin kid, and a hyper 1 year old fur kid, and people keep stopping to ask me questions about Naja, and well lets face it, I love my baby, so voice or no voice I'm gonna take every chance I get to explain her breed or even just to thank people for the nice compliments on how gorgeous she is (cause well, she is beautiful), when I'm not doing that, I'm trying as hard and as quietly as I can to correct her with her walking, you know, OFF, Leave it, drop it, heal, stop, and PLEASE DON'T CHASE THAT SQUIRREL!!!! All this is leaving my throat extremely raw, and sore. Jack is whining and crying that his feet hurt, because he insisted on wearing his new Harley Davidson boots (that I bought him) and not his running shoes, and also throwing a HUGE temper tantrum because he says he's tired (not too tired for ice cream mind you). So a nice 1/2 hour walk in the park turned into about an hour and a half walk from H E double hockey sticks. Now I'm sitting alone in my living room, in the quiet (thank god), pouring out my heart about my cr@pt@stic last few weeks to you guys, hoping that you don't mind that it's so darn long, and that I'm writing to you stoned out of my tree.
Oh yeah, just in case you're curious, the toungue biopsy came back negative for anything, and the chunk of my throat is being looked at now, and I'll have the results from that in a few weeks (but the surgeon said he's not worried).
